This is a great sounding, upliftng and affirming album.

Better and more relevant than late Stereolab; and better even than her promising first album.

If you like Stereolab at its best and you like politically conscious/literate lyrics about the state of the planet this is an album to let in your heart.

The writer purchased this wee gem when it appeared a couple of years back and I hasn't tired of it yet. Tortoise's John McEntire's sturm & drang can be discerned in some of the arrangements...which is no bad thing. Although the duet with Benjamin Schoos which appeared at approximately the same time as this album was a lovely bit of Francophile froth, 'Silencio' lacks that kind of easy listening/Moog/French kitsch stuff, which could become a bit of a muchness with Stereolab...I would even be so bold as to venture that this outing eclipses any of the stuff Laetitia did with her former band. The political conviction is still there, but the approach is slightly different. She came of age with style on this one!

Laetitia's latest album sounds like she's really finding her feet. It took a couple of listens before my mind tuned into it, but now I'm there it's a lovely place to be. The standout track for me is "Fragment pour le Future de l'Homme", a stunningly catchy little track that just won't get out of my head. "Auscultation to the Nation" reminds me of "Ping Pong" from Laetitia's Stereolab days with its juxtaposition of pop and politics. "Find Me the Pulse of the Universe" is a sumptuous homage to mathematics and nature. "Silent Spot" is just heart breakingly beautiful. Too many amazing tracks really.
