This book contains a veritable feast of information on customs and events taking place all over the country.
It's split into chapters based on themes, and contains well known and obscure items equally, with plenty of interesting history and information for each.
It's not always the easiest read, perhaps a little dry at times, but this is a minor criticism. The author is clearly well informed and knowledgeable, and this comes across in the text. It's never boring, and would be a perfect book to dip in and out of in the future.
I've certainly found a whole host of events I'd like to witness, and it will form a basis for a number of family days out during 2013 and beyond.
