The fact that we're rooting for a salivating, homicidal, pigeon-fancying retard tells you all you need to know about how hateful the main characters are. With terrible dialogue, a recycled storyline and a nonsensical ending, "Comedown" adds nothing to a well-worn genre.

1.0 out of 5 stars The view from www.drunkenmovieramblings.co.uk, 5 Sep 2013

A group of Sahf Lahdan yoofs take on the seemingly easy job of setting up a mast for a Pirate radio station on the top floor of an abandoned tower block, soon though they realise that a resident maniac is picking them off, one by one....
My expectations were set to low for this 'Brit Urban horror' (very reminiscent of "Tower Block" and "Citadel") and they were 'reached' early on.The cast are a vile bunch of wannabe gangsters, unable to conduct or construct any civilised conversation, constantly bickering, arguing or threatening others, someone give the killer an Uzi so he can finish them all off a bit quicker.
Dreadful dialogue, one character hears a noise "What was that noise?", later she's startled again, "What the **** was that ?",she exclaims, zero thrills or chills, the killer looks like the Emperor from Star Wars, there's a painfully bad twist, and not even some nice nail gun action can save this sorry mess.

1.0 out of 5 stars Trash, and not in a good way., 15 April 2013

Ist rule of horror films...... create some characters viewer will care about!!
If, as in this film, the main players are a bunch of chavvy violent moronic simpletons where does your sympathy lie?
Couldn't wait to see these revolting retards die. Wished their deaths could have been even more slow and horrific.
Award for this film.... D- Fail.

1.0 out of 5 stars Awful film, 11 Mar 2014

Any sympathy I'd have for the characters disappeared when they killed the birds and smashed the eggs it's a shame the one killed
with the nail gun got such a quick death.

2.0 out of 5 stars What you looking at fam?... (spoilers), 15 Jan 2014
This review is from: Comedown [Blu-ray] [2012] (Blu-ray)
Six friends break into the tower block they lived in as kids, now deserted and condemned, to rig up a pirate radio station, and party.

When one of the group goes missing, her friends begin to search the dark interior of the tower and soon realise that they are not alone.

A resident psychopath lurks in the shadows and is hunting them down, taking them out, one-by-one....

What sounds like a good idea, is ruined by the awful script, and the equally awful dialect that the characters spout out every other minute.

There are so many troupes in this film, guy comes out of jail to do right, friends try and turn him back to the criminal ways he had, and the friend who is a bit mental, but really weak.

The cast are good, Deacon plays the same character he does in every other film, and it all ends up a bit Kidulthood meets I Know What You Did Last Summer.

It's intense in parts, the initial set up is great, but when the main protagonist is vexed because of pigeons, you know you cannot take this film seriously.

The action literally takes place on on corridor, and we are treated to scenes of the villain in his torture chamber, playing with his victims, another cliché in this type of genre.

deacon is the most vile character, hence he gets the most intense death scene.

The ending is too obvious, the boy who wants to change gets implied in the killings, and we are treated to a final scene with the killer...sequel time? This time, I very much doubt it.

It's okay, but nothing worth writing home about.

3.0 out of 5 stars COMEDOWN IS A LET DOWN, 14 Aug 2013
This review is from: Comedown [Blu-ray] [2012] (Blu-ray)
A fairly standard idea that doesn't quite work, not helped by poor characters and iffy dialogue. This teen is given a dodgy job of putting an aerial at the top of a deserted tower block,so he and his pregnant girlfriend and some mates make the most of this by deciding to have a bit of a party up there. We learn about how some gang members were responsible for getting rid of an odd resident, this involved fire, which comes into it again later.

The somewhat dull party kicks off and the pregnant one, gets taken by a stranger lurking within the rat and pigeon infested building.
So off go the rest of the gang looking for her and sure enough, they start getting killed off.

So it soon becomes fairly standard, but it's alright for a watch. It does get a bit better as it goes on and I quite liked the end. Or perhaps i just liked seeing the end credits go up. It's one of those movies that isn't awful, but is missing something, quite a lot actually.
