5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless children's Noah's Ark toy syory, in rhyme, 4 Sept. 2012
Jane Werner was a stalwart author, at Little Golden Books, often retelling other people's stories for LGB readers and very young listeners.
This is one of her classic books.
It is a rhyming description of a child's favourite toy, a Noah's Ark, with Mr and Mrs Noah (apparently painted wooden toys), and a menagerie of animals pairs (illustrated as brightly colored frabric stuffed toys).
There is not much actual story, but young children will enjoy the comfortable rhyme, the page-turning and pointing, the animal identifying, and the homeliness of the book, as an experience shared with a caring adult who reads it.
The pictures by Martin and Alice Provenson, like the text, is classic!
A great Little Golden Book!
