A beautiful piano led ballad shows Damon Albarn at his best. Underpinned by sparse drums and a guitar break that could have come straight from late Beatles era. If the band could continue to produce songs like this, Damon wouldn't have time for all his other projects. With the exception of Gorillaz, they can hardly be considered a raging success. But it's the variety that drives him while the other band members have their own distractions. The song also evokes a sense of despair with the mechanisation of modern life and, from a personal view, strong memories of growing up in that part of London.

This got to something like 36 in the charts.

Olly Murs repeatedly gets in the top 10.

What a glorious nation.

This is a classic, timeless piece of work by Blur. If anyone thought they were living on their past glories then think again. This is one of the few tunes that catches you as soon as you hear it.

May we have some more please Blur?
