5.0 out of 5 stars What an album!!!, 13 Nov 2013
This review is from: Gnosis (Audio CD)
This is somewhat a modern masterpiece! From start to finish there is a perfect blend of bass heavy grooves and melodic guitar leads, with a good mixture of clean melodic vocals and heavy growling/shouty vocals. Usually this isn't my genre but there is something about this album that just gets me pumped and excited! From the intro track till the last track, this album just throws riff after riff, groove after groove and surprise after surprise! Each track has a similar yet totally different feel. The musicianship on this album is phenomenal. Its not often you will find a vocalist who can do both the growling/shouting and beautifully clean vocals so well. The drummer is sensational, with stupidly complex yet perfectly comfortable beat after each other, song after song. Both guitarists and the bassists are obviously insanely talented and compliment each other perfectly.

The band are obviously heavily influenced by the complex 'DJENT' style that is often associated with Meshuggah, but they put it across in their own unique and unbelievably groovy way. If you're are unsure about this album, I cant stress what an absolute corker this is, buy it now! Top notch stuff, looking forward to the next release.

After Fell Silent and Tesseract this was probably never going to be bad, but the fact that it is so good is very surprising! It's an album that gets into an unbelievable groove, and it's difficult to stop listening to it. A fine purchase. My one gripe is that the drums sound programmed and probably are... They're just too polished. That's where Fell Silent had the edge for me, you cannot beat the sound of live drums.
