4.0 out of 5 stars Darn good read, 6 April 2014

What happened in the world of publishing to the 'darn good read, good old-fashioned adventure' novel? Publishers today go for the big-selling blockbuster best sellers - this isn't it.
It IS however, a gripping adventure, full of horses, dogs, animals, good guys, bad guys - good read!

This review is from: The Condor's Feather (Kindle Edition)
I don't read a lot of fiction and I wasn't sure whether I would like this, but I did enjoy it. If I described it as "an old fashioned adventure" that would be a compliment from me, though the term might not be universally popular. Action on horseback, interesting central characters, especially Ewan (though as he was a Welshman, I did wonder why he was given the Scots name Ewan rather than the more usual Welsh version, Evan), good plot idea and plenty of colourful background activity. The plot did seem to take its time to get going, but yes, I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Condor's Feather by Margaret Muir, 20 Aug 2012
This review is from: The Condor's Feather (Kindle Edition)
It would be easy to label The Condor's Feather a classic western yet this wouldn't do the story justice. The Condor's Feather by Margaret Muir has a charmingly quaint and obvious lady touch, contains something very worthy to the reader's eye. It isn't necessity to be blessed with a inbuilt compass to follow and enjoy the journey. Nor is The Condor's Feather written to appeal to readers who harbour an obsession for describing, making or using holes in the human body.

Yet this story documents a journey into an alien environment that as bazaar as it is plausible. It will test the reader's resolve and when done cause all to scan the week-end newspaper, leisure and travel section in search of a fulfilling and genuine adventure; with longing.

The Condor's Feather by Margaret Muir may remind you that South America probably always was and still is the land of the cowboy. A place where distance outnumbers people. A place where good guys and bad are forced to share the same lonely real estate. Five star.
