I bought two ice lights . When powered down to minimum , one is half the brightness of the other one.My friend ( video ) also bought two and his were the same. When screwed onto a stand they rock slightly on their housing . When powered down there's no need to add orange gels for tungsten as they're fairly orange as it is at minimum power. They'll be great for the odd gimmick , but in terms of coming out on every job the novelty has certainly worn off after a couple of weeks , and i don't think their build quality would cope with regular use , as the black handle part is already beginning to loosen on one . It's very much a children's toy in gimmickry and build quality .

I brought two of these, they are excellent products providing you know their limitations.
They tend to suit interiors and perhaps outside shots taken in the early/late evening, but don't think that you can ever use them as fill light during normal daylight hours.
They are subtle but in the right situation can produce the most beautiful soft light, perfect for interior portraiture on the move.
Build quality isn't an issue for me, it just feels about right in the hand and so much better than the Chinese clones which inevitably appear.
Design drawbacks?, perhaps in would be nice to have some kind of digital numerical power scale display (1-10) especially if you are using two or more, battery life could also be improved a tad.
The upshot is that these lights are so much more of an improvement on portable video lights for stills, so despite their limitations they are a recommended piece of kit when used in the right environment, despite the price!!

Threads are unusable ... had to go online to buy tap and die set to re-thread IceLight base. Pathetic when you pay good money for an expected good quality product.

very good light, but is overhyped. not worth that much, if you are diligent enough you can build your own led lighting or buy a cheaper one. :)

I love this thing, I use it for details at a wedding, and evening shoots, and lighting the guys up while smoking a cigar :D

Great for shoots where window light is not available or when light is low only 3 stars due to price
