I found this fan was easy to assemble (no tools necessary as everything just clicks into place), nice and quiet (given the amount of air it moved), as well as unusual and somewhat elegant.
In a house full of cats, this offered a safe solution to the (admittedly fairly rare in the UK) problem of hot days with little or no air flow. The fan produces a healthy output of air and does so in reasonably quiet fashion. The provided remote control enables swift reduction or total switch off of air flow at the touch of a button should an important phone call intervene when used in a home office. With the output at the highest level, it is fairly loud but that is a small price to pay for the amount of cooling air that it throws out; it can be reduced to a quiet and gentle breeze for sleeping if you are intolerant of noise.
At the end of the summer (if not before, given the weather in the UK), the fan is easily disassembled and put back in the box for storage in the attic before it is next needed. It isn't a cheap option (although it has been on various attractive offers over the winter) but it is one of the best fans I have ever owned and I would have no hesitation getting another in the future.
