Old cookbooks are an interesting fare. Some seem to be more a collection of essays by a food critic, but this one seems to be written by somebody who like cooking. If you have a bit of experience you can make you own mind up, of how to interpret the recipes, for those new to historic cooking there are updated and adapted versions of some of the recipes in the back to try. I have used it quite a lot for cooking and nobody has died yet - despite the unusual ingredients. In fact, my husband is asking for another helping...so enjoy.
