If I can give one bit of advice to a new Kindle Fire owner it is BUY THIS BOOK. It is an excellent reference guide that covers every single topic that a new user needs to know about. It made the tricky set up process easy by gently guiding me through it and it quickly taught me how to navigate the multiple screens which otherwise would have been confusing. It is written by a Kindle expert who has been publishing for over 10 years and it is this vast experience that makes the explanations so insightful. I really think this is the most useful guide on Amazon to show you how to use the Kindle Fire.

I purchased this to help me with my new kindle fire, I was disappointed as most of the content referred to the US version, quoting prices of extras in dollars.

This is a waste of money. Do not purchase. It is solely based on the American versions of the kindle fire hd. The versions sold in the UK do not support flash so the content in the book is factually incorrect. Again save your money and do not purchase.

I was interested to see what "Intereactive" books would look like on my wifes new Kindle Fire HD so as this is listed under interactive I thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone - my wife is not really into computers etc so she could maybe learn a bit about it and if its interactive then maybe that would make it more interesting. From a quick look it does not fill either of those requirements. The only interactive thing that I can see is the x-ray function which is on all new kindle books already. The content is nothing special so although not expensive its not really what I was looking for

I don't have or want FIRE. I am interested to see how it works and to understand the differences between it and my beloved Playbook.

This manual covers many of the mechanics of the FIRE - but please if you are looking at it in the UK be aware that many features (PRIME for instance) are NOT the same in the UK.

If you have never used a tablet or smart phone before then this or any similar manual will probably be most welcome since it does cover the basics of how to use the screen. It also covers the "where is it? How do I? Help, I've pressed ..."

All in all a great free manual, or an ok one if paid for as long as you understand that not everything in it works exactly like that in the UK. CW.
