The chair arrived much quicker than expected and the delivery charge was quite steep (15% of the cost of the chair). It took about 45 minutes to assemble. The instructions were over-simplified, but I worked it out. Some parts were dusty and had to be cleaned, and there was a slight mark on the side of the back that I can live with. Very comfortable to sit in and lounge, but reverts to upright as you get up, which you have to get used to. It might not suit someone with longer femurs (I'm 5'7") as the seat isn't that deep. It's fairly heavy to move about, but very stable to sit in. For the price, though, overall, pretty good. Just got to keep Sparky the Jack Russell off it...

An excellent purcharse, for just over a hundred quid delivered
this is a lot of chair for the money, maybe doesn`t look
that padded from the picture but it`s very comfy, with good support.
Very sturdy & well made, the faux leather is warmer to sit on than
leather. They are very easy to assemble, 20,25 mins for the 1st
one I ordered but the wife can`t see green cheese so she got one
too and I put it together in 10 mins flat. Argos do an almost
identical product but want 199 each for them. I don`t think you`ll
find a product out there as well made as this for the price.

I used to like this chair however it is very cheaply made considering the price tag. I weigh a little over 9 stone however after 9 months one of the legs has snapped. The chair has sat in my office and was used for up to 3 hours per day. The footstool still works but I did not pay nearly £140 for a footstool. I have searched the internet trying to find something I can use to fix this i.e. office chair legs however the column connecting the chair to the base is 35mm, too thin for standard office chairs which are 50mm. The only way I would be able to fix this is to create new legs which would take time I'd rather not spend fixing an expensive chair. Also the lack of height control is annoying and the padding isn't firm enough to sit on for extended periods (90 minutes plus) which causes pain in my lower back, this is the only desk chair that has caused this and I am not prone to back pain. £130 mistake.

I ordered this on a Sunday evening & it arrived Tuesday which I was delighted with. I purchased the chair to help support my back (our other furniture designed for lounging!)& it does help, although it is a little high to have feet flat on ground & I'm 5"8. Despite other reviews stating that it was difficult to assemble, we had no difficulties. You can tell that it's plastic (close up) but I would have expected that for the price.

I am so happy with this purchase especially as it was a last minute change of mind from another product. Received the product two days after ordering it, arrived in a neatly packaged parcel and was adequately protected from damage. I ordered this at the same time as roughly 10 other products, the biggest of those was a dvd yet this product was the first to arrive.

Assembly is very straight forward and shouldn't take you to long to put together, It does require you to lift the main seat onto a base so if you have trouble lifting heavy items you may need help with that part.
I got this product to use for my computer room so it's a little low for my purposes but had a feeling that was going to be the case before hand so I'll adapt it for my specific needs, but if I was normal and buying it for it's proper use eg. sitting in front of the tv / playing games etc it would have been perfect height. There is also the added bonus of a footstool, which is also very simple to put together.

Had a slight problem in that it was missing couple of accessories to assemble the footstool but after a email to the seller I had a swift response to the problem and the parts sent to me by first class mail the same day.

To sum up great product, great customer service and a very happy and comfortable consumer

Chair looks far more expensive than it is and its quite comfortable but I find the reclining mechanism a bit stiff. Overall I'm very happy and for the price paid it represents outstanding value for money.

My existing 3 piece suite is now too low for me to get up easily. This chair is a few inches higher and makes all the difference. It is also remarkably comfortable, especially when used with the footstool.

Construction was perfectly straightforward, though a certain amount of firm pressure is required to align the bolt holes in the arm rests.
The instructions are easy to follow and include an illustrated parts checklist. The parts are packed in logical groups making it easy to identify what is what with the different sized nuts, bolts and washers seperately bagged, making identification straightforward. The finished chair and stool are perfectly level on completion.
The only flaw was that the thread on the handscrew used to adjust the reclining action was not cut accurately, making it impossible to install. A quick phone call to the included Julien Bowen support number had a perfect replacement sent to me by return. The company clearly believes in good customer support.

The included tools are of better than some I have found in some self assembly kits in the past and were used to build the chair, it would have been slightly quicker to use my own toolkit, however, I was too lazy to go out and get them as those included posed no problem.

This chair represents excellent value with alternatives with more sophisticated reclining mechanisms, say, costing significantly more.
