Having wet shaved since the age of 16 and now in my late 60's
with an old man's face, I thought it about time to try this
newer Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor.
I started my early shaving life with the basic Gillette Safety
Razor, switched to Wilkinson and during the past few years have
been using the Wilkinson Quatro Titanium razor and blades.

Over the last few days I have used the Gillette Fusion ProGlide
and can honestly state that I have never had a smoother, cleaner
shave at all. The addition of a Sideburns Trimmer blade is a
boon too.

Earlier reviewers refer to the technical aspects of this razor, so
I will not repeat them again.
I shaved, as per the instructions using the battery powered Pro
Glide and yes, it does ride easily over the facial contours
giving a very satisfactory shave.
I tried it without the battery operated system, and whilst it
shaves well, it gives far better results when switched on.

I find this product expensive for a pensioners pocket, but I will
stay with it as long as I can afford it, and find reasonably
priced blades.
It works well for me, give it a go, I think you will be pleasantly
surprised.
Would have thought that Gillette could have included a Caddy for
the razor at this price but alas, No !
5 Star product.

Gillette's latest iteration in their Fusion range. The key change is the 'flexball' feature. This allows the blade head to move from right to left, and left to right, when in use. It isn't a ball as such as it does not allow universal movement of the blade head - if that's their next innovation I'm copyrighting it first! What it does allow is the blade to follow your face more exactly. This seems like a logical additional feature and in many ways I'm surprised they didn't come up with it before.

I'm a habitual user of Gillette Fusion razors and this gives at least a comparable shave to other versions of the system. Logically this system should give a better shave but using earlier versions it was pretty good and I can't detect any immediate improvement. Nonetheless I'll probably switch to the Flexball system. Equally, adopting any innovation going, I prefer the 'Power' version of the Fusion range and again will stick with this. I think the vibration makes the razor slightly smoother in use.

Perennial issue with Gillette 'high end' razors is the cost of replacement blades, and especially the price difference between 'Power' and 'Manual' blades. There's no difference here. Replacement blades are expensive. I'll stand the cost albeit reluctantly. It's worth checking on Amazon to see the best offers for blades. Often a new razor and blades can cost less than the blades alone. Another point, a reviewer has suggested you have to buy Flexball blades to work with this razor. Certainly other Fusion blades work fine so that's not the case.

With this pack you get a Power Flexball razor, a battery and four blades.

Simply the best blades available although they don't last as long as mentioned on box. The best shave on the market

I know they always say it.... after all it is their catch phrase..... The Best a Man Can Get!!! Actually, I've always thought so, in the shaving department that is. This has two functions..... shaving and grooming. The shaving ..... oh my, what a real pleasure it is to shave with this razor. Honestly, when I looked at in the cold light of day I had a feeling that I was going to really struggle with it. I mean, it's huge!!!!

I'm one of those lucky guys that doesn't have to shave every day if I don't need to. 1) I have light hair growth and 2) whatever does grow is grey so it doesn't show as much as younger, darker haired guys do. I never could get a satisfactory five o'clock shadow..... it would literally take a fortnight to get that much growth, and even if I let it get to that........ it'd just look daft!! Anyway, the razor........ no problems at all, nicht! nadda! zilch! It is such a joy to use. It feels weighty and secure in the hand and the five blades, with a good covering of foam/gel on the face glides like a pro skater..... smooth and easy! It gives a superbly close shave..... ok even though my face is follicle challenged I did used to get missed spot that would annoy me for the rest of the day. It can be used with or without the vibration function just as easily. I like to play with the devil so have the vibration on.... I don't seriously play with the devil... never have and never would. It just feels like it gets just that little bit more off the chin because, apparently it encourages the hair to stand proud!

Talking of standing proud..... for those who don't like the idea of men talking about their intimate grooming... turn away now! I was in the Army and learned quickly to look after my hygiene, especially around my groin. The easiest option was get rid of the hair that gathers sweat and other nasty's. This is where the grooming aid comes in. I tend to keep my pubic hair but as short as possible. The trimmer part of the unit has a number of combs that attach (I think it's three.... I only have one left because I dropped the other two down a big dark hole... the end of the bath that amazingly was just wide enough to accommodate these combs..... but not my hand. I'm not to bothered about losing them because the remaining comb is perfect for the job. If I had never shaved my nads in those early Army days or had known how horribly itchy it gets when the hair starts growing back... I'd probably never have done it. As it is, I did do it and therefore shave regularly and I swear that in all these years I have never cut myself once. I was a little bit concerned because of the size of this thing and whether it would be clumsy around these jewels...... again..... the best shave ever.
I got this in September or October and I am still using the same blade and still getting a perfect shave on my face and the nether regions. I thoroughly clean the blades with a razor block that de-scums it, after each use. The razor block is something to check out if you want to save a small fortune in the cost of blades.
In summary, a hefty but truly controllable size with two functions, both of which perform much better than I expected. A comfortable, clean shave each and every time. I can't imagine even Gillette surpassing this gem of a razor.

The Fusion Flexball Power is a little heavier and a little larger overall than the ProGlide Power razor it replaces, but this is something you quickly learn to prefer. There is also far more flexibility in the blade than you might expect -- it bends in every direction -- and at first I thought that this might make it a little difficult to use when shaving against the grain (which I do after first shaving with the grain), but this is not the case. All this flexibility does make it much easier to shave around the chin, for example, and I think it would be very difficult to cut yourself with this razor, unless you were actually trying to do that.

As for the closeness of the shave, I was already quite satisfied with my old razor. Nevertheless, the results here may be slightly smoother and I did notice that I was able to shave more quickly than usual, which is a bonus in the mornings.

I was also given the manual variant of the Flexball for comparison. The handle of that model is lighter and smaller than this (in fact a little short in my hand). It does a good job, but this Power variant does shave closer.

I mainly use an epilator for hair removal , but use razors on, ahem, sensitive areas, or on legs when traveling.

Whenever I do choose to use a razor, I reach for a mens one. Why? To put it simply, mens razors are better. The results are smoother, seem to last a extra day or two and - most importantly - the blades are protected and the grip on the handle is more effective, so there's less chance of getting sliced and diced in the quest for smooth legs. Gillette is so much better then other brands that I've used over the years, as you don't need to apply quite as much pressure as you hold it against your skin as you do with most other brands = so it doesn't cause the shaving head to shift, and it doesn't tug or scratch skin either.

I’ve been really impressed with this razor. The handle is nicely designed and weighted, being made from some sort of alloy. Even before you start shaving it gives a good quality feel and makes it a pleasure to hold. This pack includes the handle and blade, plus 3 additional blades (4 blades in total) and a Duracell battery. The battery compartment was easily accessible from the bottom of the handle with a rubber seal ensuring a waterproof compartment for the battery.

Upon use I found the razor gives a very close shave on just 1 pass over the skin, better than any I have had previously. It seemed to do everything it claims - following the contours of the face etc… I’ve been using the first blade for nearly three weeks now. It’s about time to change it, but if I get three weeks out of each of the blades in this pack, it will last me 3 months. Which makes it better value than you first think.

I like this product, but then again I like it because I like Gillette products and have used them for years. In terms of technology, well I'm not sure it's all that big of a leap forward in technology. However, what you do get is a pretty decent razor. I noticed a real reduction in my" 5 o'clock shadow" with this razor, and it glides well over my skin with no snags or tugs like some of my previous razors did. That said what may have also helped was my use of a "Shaving Oil" with warm water as a pre-soak before initiating the shave. In addition I can say I have never had a less irritating shave. I normally get severe razor burn on my neck area. I really liked the proglide fusion men's razor. The vibrating seemed to help get a closer shave and the flexball really does follow the contour of the face and neck.

For me this product has worked well, and hence I would recommend it.

These blades are not the latest version. They feel 'draggy' when shaving and also vibrate noisily. The latest version is noticeably easier to shave with.

The horrible, horrible cost makes me want to knock almost two full stars off. But three stars would belie the bottom line. Short of a specialist razor and/or a professional old school barber that also does shaves.... you can't *get* a better shave than this. Is it perfect? no. Even if not for the cost, they're probably a 4.5 not 5/5. You still need to watch your technique and don't assume the 'safety razor' means you can sling it around at any angle at any speed!

They are quite durable as you would expect from blades that cost this much, and with my stubble being of only average toughness a pack of 4 or 8 last long enough.

Use a decent gel or foam, don't rush, and you'll have a quality shave every time.
