I read this novel whilst on holiday and although espionage is not my thing I found this a very enjoyable read. There has obviously been a great deal of research behind it. It has more twists than a yard of rope. An excellent first book.

Straight out of the Le Carre genre this first novel from Mel Trotter is a cracker. First rate twisting plot winds its way from the second world war through to our modern royalty in the exotic BVIs - a region clearly experienced by the author and providing an authenticity.

I love this book. The Caribbean setting is beautiful and the detail of the second world war researched in detail. The characters are both magnetic, dramatic and eccentric in once go! The book is an intense thriller with lots of hooks and turns. But the best bit is the ending, completely unexpected with all of the pieces of the puzzle finally falling into place!

A really interesting book written in a compelling style. After the first few pages I found it difficult to put down. Some beautiful descriptions and characters that have you rushing through pages trying to understand them. A story that has all the elements of a cracking thriller - love, deception, history and a race to the finish amongst the main characters.

Found it strange at first, with descriptions that seemed very foreign to me, I almost gave up at this stage, but thankfully I didn't. The book then developed into something really good, imaginative, colorfully described and full of surprises. Intriguing dark secrets keep you turning the pages. Highly recommended.

A cracking story set in the Caribbean. Full of intrigue. The Orphan Sniper maintains a pace which meant I couldn't put it down. Nice twists and turns. I won't spoil your enjoyment by giving too much away about the unusual plot. If you buy it you will not be disappointed.
