For Joshua Radin's fourth album he has gone back to what he does best. This is an album closer to 'We Were Here' than his two previous efforts but the maturity is much more evident, in fact this may be his best effort yet. Like 'Simple Times' there isn't a track you want to skip even after several listens and that has as much to do with the quality of the music as the brilliant track ordering. There's a story to tell here and each song requires your attention.

To suggest stand out tracks is tough as they all feel they work together rather than individually, but if you need to listen to samples, try out 'anywhere your love goes' 'everything' and 'the willow'. With 12tracks coming in at 38minutes it's this precise production that gives 'Underwater' its strength. Listening to this album live would really work in an intimate environment which Joshua Radin thrives on, and you can bet you would feel like he would be singing to you and you alone.

I have to thank Amazon for putting this album in their weekly bargains on the mp3 app. £3.99 for the whole thing! I listened to the demos, as I have to admit I have never heard of Joshua Radin before and liked what I heard so downloaded it.

The album has a very calming tone throughout, his voice compliments the music, rather than being 'the thing'. I love the classical elements of some of the tracks, the intro to 'Any Day Now' is just pure class. I am very much into 'easy listening' music at the minute, and this fits the bill perfectly. I am very glad I decided to get this despite not knowing the artist and it's opened up my mind a bit more.

I have long been a fan of Joshua Radin since hearing Winter playing in the background to a Scrubs episode. From that moment on I was hooked and needed more from this very talented guy.

I found We Were Here and it's been played so much I'm surprised the CD still plays. An amazing album, classic songs with genius lyrics. Then came Simple Times and The Rock and the Tide, both with alot more 'mainstream' elements which, although great songs, took away from his beautiful voice and the simplicity of how he started out with 'whisper rock'. Some of his originality can still be heard in songs like the title track 'The Rock and the Tide' and 'No Envy, No Fear' but the extra instruments in alot of the songs were a little distracting compared to his earlier songs.

This album, Underwater, is more mature but follows on perfectly from where Joshua came from. Raw, simple, classic and soulful. He has added the string sections to this album which gives it a Simon and Garfunkel feel and blends perfectly with his smooth voice.

It's a very close call between Underwater and We Were Here.. but this might just be his best album yet.

If ever you get to see him live - don't think, just do it. His shows are amazingly uplifting and while he's singing you can hear a pin drop in the crowd between his breaths - a testament to the respect his fans have for his music and lyrics.

This is an artist that I saw on TV and looked into his CD, it is like listening to a comforting melodic series of tunes that the more you listen to the more you enjoy, it is a keeper, for all you who love good tunes where you can hear and understand the words. Excellent! Reccomended!

Downloaded fine for me - easy to use.... also imported to itunes automatically.

Bargain at that price.

Apparently I have to put in a minimum of twenty works so this sentence should do

Sticking to what he does best, another beautiful set of songs. Looking forward to seeing him in London again in September. Always so uplifting in concert.

Lovely to hear music from Joshua using strings, amazing and different. Almost see him exploring the bottom of the ocean!
