Joshua Radin is still poducing the goods
on 30 July 2012
For Joshua Radin's fourth album he has gone back to what he does best. This is an album closer to 'We Were Here' than his two previous efforts but the maturity is much more evident, in fact this may be his best effort yet. Like 'Simple Times' there isn't a track you want to skip even after several listens and that has as much to do with the quality of the music as the brilliant track ordering. There's a story to tell here and each song requires your attention.
To suggest stand out tracks is tough as they all feel they work together rather than individually, but if you need to listen to samples, try out 'anywhere your love goes' 'everything' and 'the willow'. With 12tracks coming in at 38minutes it's this precise production that gives 'Underwater' its strength. Listening to this album live would really work in an intimate environment which Joshua Radin thrives on, and you can bet you would feel like he would be singing to you and you alone.
