5.0 out of 5 stars Jedward - definitely worth a listen!
I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I thought I'd give it a go, as I like new releases, and I was curious as to whether Jedward were as bad as their reputation in the UK would have them. You know what? They're not. This album is a finely-crafted piece of work - seems even to be a concept album - going from seeing the girl, meeting her, going out, breaking up and a...

3.0 out of 5 stars NOt being a Jedward fan this is based on 8 year old reactions
Sorry this is not a first hand review as I am not really into Jedward and then again if you werre not into Jedward you would probably not be reading this ..... but this is a review from twin girls aged 8 who have played this to death.

"It is a good CD but not as good as their previous CD's but this is worth a buy."

So if you are into the Jedward...

I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I thought I'd give it a go, as I like new releases, and I was curious as to whether Jedward were as bad as their reputation in the UK would have them. You know what? They're not. This album is a finely-crafted piece of work - seems even to be a concept album - going from seeing the girl, meeting her, going out, breaking up and a reunion.

The whole gamut of emotions is gone through - I felt their elation at seeing the object of their desire, the excitement of going out (the absolute bliss of the relationship is expressed profoundly in the David Guetta-style "Luminous" - THE standout among an album of outstanding tracks), the heartache of losing her at the end of the summer...and the sheer joy of getting back together. A fabulous album, which I can't stop listening to - completely unexpected.

What surprises me is that I'm not hearing any of these songs on the radio...every single one of them would do very well - their style ranges from David Guetta, as previously mentioned, to Justin Bieber pop, and some songs even hark back to 90s Back Street Boys and NSYNC.

Something for everyone on this album! Give it a go - you might find you like it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Completely Jepic, 1 July 2012
This review is from: Young Love (Audio CD)
Jedward chose to ignore my idea that, to be fair to John, who normally only gets one letter, they should call their album E-John. But this has not made me bitter and I review this with a pure heart. And let me tell you that the Jedward stage is coming on over the hill and it's overflowing with chunky tunes and poppy goodness. That Jedward have twice failed to win Eurovision is a mystery to rival the Loch Ness monster, the disappearance of Lord Lucan, and Eamonn Holmes's career. Waterline is up there with Abba, Sandie Shaw and Brotherhood of Man. Shame on you Europe! These boys are pure pop, distilled with an essence of joy, and the best thing to come out of Ireland since Dana, Johnny Logan, and the potato. For pure pop fun take a trip to the J and E Department today. You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suprisingly Good, 30 Jun 2012

This review is from: Young Love (Audio CD)
I bought this album os a friend recommended the single and I liked it, but I wasn't particurly hopeful that I'd like the whole album, as it's not the kind of thing I usually listen to, so it was with complete suprise that I found myself really enjoying it and listening to it over and over. The first song Waterline, I was familiar with due to Eurovision, but the rest were a complete Revelation, these boys CAN sing, and they can sing very well. The music is fun and varied, as the album takes you on a emotional journey through the joys and pains of Young Love, from the very sweet title track, "Young love" through to amazingly catchy "POV", there is something to suit every mood.
There are no fillers on this album, every track could quite easily be a hit single, my particualr favourte's are the very cheeky "Happens in the Dark" the beautifully moving "What it feels like" and the glorius "Luminous" a David Guetta-style peice, that I feel sure will become a huge summer hit.
I give this album 10/10 and its now one of my all time favourite albums

4.0 out of 5 stars Luminous!!, 2 July 2012
This review is from: Young Love (Audio CD)
Vocally this is Jedward's best album, their 3rd. Singing lessons (thanks to Eurovision) really paid off. But 'tone deaf' tag is still used in the UK but this album proves they really CAN sing.

The best songs are Luminous, Give it up, A Girl like you, All I want is you and Can't forget you. Cool Heroes, another brilliant track is stupidly only available as an itunes download on the deluxe edition but it should have been included here. Buy it and see for yourself.

Jedward came onto the scene a few years ago and their arrival was both comical and controversial. So many people did not get them, did not understand them nor did they want to. But Jedward are still here and they are standing the test of time.
So what have we got here, well looking at their past work, planet Jedward was not good, but it was fun. They had fun and everything was brand new for them and they enjoyed every minute of it. Then came Victory, Victory was miles away from Planet Jedward, it was like two different artists. Victory was an excellent album. Full of catchy tunes but the album did not do that well. I feel that this was because it was `Jedward' and that is not being fair to the pair who quite definitely have talent. Then came `Young Love', this album. Again this is miles away from Victory. You can see and hear the difference in quality and confidence that has grown in the two lads. This album is absolutely brilliant, but sadly, I feel it will not do well because it is `Jedward' and that is very sad indeed. This album reminds me of McFly or One Direction or even The Wanted, but this is better. It is better because of the quality of the production and the quality of the music. This is aimed at the female teen market. I am neither female nor a teen and Jedward are my new guilty pleasure.
The amount of effort and hard work that these two have put into this album is very apparent. The track "cant forget you" is absolutely brilliant. A top tune. I so hope that this gets released as a single. I would love for them to get a number 1. People are listening to this album in disbelief. It does not come across as being Jedward, it does not sound like Jedward, it sounds like a top well established artist and very professional at that.
But the fact remains, that Jedward aren't bothered that people dislike them and it doesn't really matter. They are so thick skinned; they just go with the flow and get on with it.
These two lads need to be very proud of what they have achieved because no one said it could be done and they have done it. I hope that they continue with their music career and I hope that many more albums follow.
I love their energy, their talent and the fact that you don't read about them in the paper taking drugs, getting drunk, sex scandal's and fighting. These are two very well balanced brothers, good looking and talented and they stick to their morals. They are proving many of us wrong. This album will have to be taken seriously. It really is that good.
I hope that Jedward read this review because if there was one thing I would say to them, that is "don't let people put you down, continue with your work ethics and maintain your standards and beliefs, you are both talented individuals and you need to be very proud of your hard work and dedication".

Buy this album you will be very pleasantly surprised by the quality and listenability of it. This should put Jedward very firmly on the map. They deserve it.

I wasn't sure how their albums would sound after their 1st one, mainly rap. But they CAN sing, if you want prove then buy this album. And their 2nd one as well, which is also brilliant.
