This review is from: Much Les (Audio CD)
much of les' output was completely awful this
however is the exception of all exceptions, each track is a complete gem.leroy vinegars sliding soulful bass playing to the fore on 'doin that
thing 'is amazing.with these hands is probably the most inspiring love song ive ever heard
'burnin coal' is exactly that, with legend willie
bobo adding fuel to an already blazing inferno
leroy vinegar hammering the bass lines home as
les goes ape on the piano.'benjamin' i dont like.
'Love for sale' and the majestically intricate
arrangement of 'roberta' confirm this LP as a classic.soulful, thought provoking ,foot stomping
funky and even a little tear jerking to boot.
It simply has it all.donald dean must also get a
notable mention on drums.i had to get a friend
to bring this from the U.S.All you have to do
is order it.Im sick its being reissued to be honest but buy it now and ignore my begrudgery
if its good enough for HERE COMES THE NIGHT then its good enough for you
