5.0 out of 5 stars What's On the CDS?? - 'The Survey With the Fringe On Top!
Peggy Lee has 100s of releases to her name so the actual classic Album List is important to the buyer so I've provided one.
(At the time of writing the review Amazon did not have the tracks listed*)

No doubt volumes 2 and 3 and even 4 will follow.
(Volume two has indeed been released here is a link.

5.0 out of 5 stars AS GOOD AS IT GETS!!, 13 Sep 2012

This review is from: Eight Classic Albums [Audio CD] Peggy Lee (Audio CD)
8 Albums from Peggy Lee in her top vocal form in the sixties. 4 classic albums
here. IF YOU GO / LATIN A LA LEE /OLE A LA LEE / CHRISTMAS CAROUSEL and the
other four ain't that bad. This is proberbly the best bargain in the eight
album series and constitutes a saving of around 40 if you tried to buy each
album individually and then you wouldn't have them in a handy luggage pack!
IF YOU GO is laid back romantic sad love songs....beautiful....The latin albums
are up tempo delights....good to dance to...and CHRISTMAS CAROUSEL is a seasonal
joy. BLACK COFFEE is a cult album of Brunswick recordings...JUMP FOR JOY is a
big band tempo run through standards and THEN there is George Shearing backing
Peggy at Basin Street EAst on a live recording. Time to spoil yourself !

5.0 out of 5 stars The Albums- The Tracks. Remind Me?. You Fascinate Me So., 21 Feb 2013

(HALL OF FAME REVIEWER)    (TOP 10 REVIEWER)    (VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
Eight Albums, Eighty Nine tracks on four CDs for the price of just one CD and digitally enhanced to boot makes this a tempting buy.
And this is volume two.
This is a link to volume 1
Eight Classic Albums
For the price of a couple of CDs you could get 16 classic albums
You get an awful lot for not a lot of money.

The Real Gone Jazz label has garnered some really good reviews for sound quality.
The digitally enhanced sound is a good indicator but for a proper review I really suggest you read other, more knowledgeable people's reviews.
The collection is on 4 CDs encased in a double wide jewel case.

BUT Amazon has not said which classic albums are on the set and have not provided a track listing.
They did this with volume one adding the track listing a long time after the set had been released making my `review' redundant.
I can see that a really thoughtful person has on Amazon USA but that review may disappear as more UK reviews appear (Amazon seem to add USA reviews to help the buyer). This is in a way ironic because these releases are supposed to be EU only releases

But the Australians, Canadians and Swiss seem to sell them by the shed load!

So this may be of interest and use?
The albums are
SONGS FROM PETE KELLY'S BLUES (1955),
DREAM STREET (1957),
SEA SHELLS (1958),
MISS WONDERFUL (1959),
JUMP FOR JOY (1959),
THE MAN I LOVE (1957),
I LIKE MEN (1959) and
PRETTY EYES (1960).

As always if you see any typos add a note and I will correct and credit you with the correction- just add a comment......

The Tracks and CD `split'.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nothing new....., 2 Feb 2013

This review is from: Eight Classic Albums [Audio CD] Peggy Lee (Audio CD)
Having just received my cd set, i'm very disappointed that a few of the Albums are in mono. Things Are Swingin', Christmas carousel, and if you go are presented here in mono only. Thing's are Swingin' has already been available in mono on the EMI 2 on one release when jump for joy included on the same set. Thing's are swingin' has however been issued in stereo on cd, so i'd hoped it would be in stereo here. Also there are NO sleeve notes at all apart from a list of other jazz release's, and the track listing on the back.I Have to admit the sound quality is good, and considering all the content is out of copyright, and the fact that they wouldn't have been able to master from the original master tapes.I have ordered vol 2, so i hope that Jump For Joy is in stereo, but i'm not holding my breath. In short if you've already been collecting Peggy Lee on Cd, there'll be nothing new here, i only brought them on the hope of some albums, being in stereo. If you're new to collecting Peggy Lee, this set is a fab start. Make your choice wisely.....

4.0 out of 5 stars 8 more classic albums from Peggy Lee..., 23 Jan 2013

(VINE VOICE)    (TOP 50 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
Real Gone Jazz have put out a great many titles and having had the chance over Christmas and New Year to listen to 4 sets I have come to the conclusion that these are a real bargain and whilst probably aimed at the collector who already has the LPs and knows all about the singer these will also do well for someone who wishes to obtain a lot of Peggy Lee for a modest outlay. My reason for giving 4 stars is just that without the extra information that one now expects these sets fall short in just that one respect. More please Real Gone Jazz...

5.0 out of 5 stars PEGGY LEE WAS WONDERFUL & A GREAT BUY SUCH AS THIS CONFIRMS HER STANDING!, 29 Jan 2014
By
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
Miss Lee was known for "Mr. Wonderful" and a whole host of other popular song classics, and she was a wonderful artist as this great compilation of numerous of her long-length albums makes evident. Peggy had a wonderfully restrained and minimalist style accompanied by great sensitivity which always makes her a joy and especially soothing to listen to - in modern terms she can act as a powerful relaxer. Besides Miss Lee's undeniable gifts, this "great buy" is a treasure trove of some of her best recordings ever and Miss Lee consistently made good records which must be also due to the companies she worked for - Decca and Capitol in the USA. These businesses seemed to have really appreciated her and the outcome is discernible in the 8 albums provided here for your audible delight. To pick highlights is futile as practically every track is a highlight. Do buy and savour this wonderful musical box set! You won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Listen to the distinctive voice of Peggy Lee and enjoy., 8 Dec 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
There are so many truly memorable recordings on these eight albums making it difficult to choose any favourites. It really is a treat to have the continued opportunity to purchase collections of these great performers. Peggy Lee, together with Ella F, Rosemary C, Sarah V, and so many more, are amongst the very best of 'all time'.

Peggy Lee's rendition of "Fever" is always certainly to raise any mans temperature also all of the other songs on this 4 Cd, 8 album set of some of her best songs. She was mistress of the sultry song but could also tug at your heart with the sad ballads. One sexy voice. Sad she is no longer with us.
