5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!
This motherboard is the best of the best at this price. It came on time and is working super good touch wood. I am using this with my amd Athlon x2 250 over clocked to 3.4ghz and with the second core unlocked and it is holding up really good. Overall excellent build quality for all us system builders well done asrock.

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars lots of features on a cheap board
what the title says.

its a versatile board, but it feels and looks as cheap as the price would lead you to believe it to be.

4.0 out of 5 stars New for Old, 22 Feb. 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: AsRock N68C-GS FX Motherboard (Socket AM3+, NVIDIA GeForce 7025, DDR3, S-ATA 300, Micro ATX, ASRock XFast USB and XFast LAN) (Personal Computers)
Trying to find an AM3 microATX motherboard with two PCI slots was difficult. This enabled me to repair an old generation PC while keeping the CPU, memory, HDD and case/PSU. Now working OK.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great if your AM2 Motherboard dies, 12 July 2013
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: AsRock N68C-GS FX Motherboard (Socket AM3+, NVIDIA GeForce 7025, DDR3, S-ATA 300, Micro ATX, ASRock XFast USB and XFast LAN) (Personal Computers)
The AsRock N68C-S (10/100 LAN) and N68C-GS (10/100/1000 LAN) motherboards are great for people with older AM2 CPUs like Athlon 64 X2 and DDR2 RAM.
If the AM2 motherboard dies, most other stuff will probably be OK. Just get an AsRock N68 motherboard and carry on using your old CPU and DDR2 RAM etc.
Later on, you may wish to upgrade the CPU to a more powerful AM3 or AM3+ model (quite reasonably priced) up to 95W TDP and DDR3 RAM.
You are limited to using only 2 DIMM sockets at a time so you need at least 1GB DIMMS.
Use the 2 yellow sockets with your DDR2 RAM and AM2 CPU.
When you upgrade the CPU to AM3 later, remove the DDR2 from the yellow sockets and put 2 new sticks of DDR3 in the 2 blue sockets.

You can't use DDR2 and DDR3 at the same time and you have to use the right CPU to match the RAM.
Ideal to keep you going at reasonable cost until you decide to upgrade or not.

As a starting point for all your needs it certainly provides a good platform. The choice for expansion is excellent, taking many processor and memory options. I had a problem with the on board LAN card however and had to download new drivers to get the best out of it. Overall a nice starter

5.0 out of 5 stars perfectly useful motherboard, 28 Oct. 2012

Product delivered on time in good order. Performs fine. This is a useful 'crossover' board as it takes DDR2 or DDR3 and takes both serial and parallel hard drives, and a good range of processors. A minor wrinkle though is that to use DDR3 you need a AM3 processor - but at least there is a good upgrade path here to take you well into Windows 8 I suspect. Have fun!

My old motherbaord died, so recommended by a friend to go for this motherbaord. It allowed me to transfer my AMD athlon processor & DDR2 memory straight over. it's a great budget board that allows for plenty of opportunity for later expansion with processor & also DDR3 memory.

Please note - instructions say you can't use DDR2 & DR3 memory at the same time, it's one or the other.
