4.0 out of 5 stars Four Stars
Very much of its time, most enjoyable, very French of course.

2.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly disappointing!
I was expecting brilliant satire but the film did not hold my attention for long.

After an intriguing opening in which guests turn up for dinner on the wrong night, the film quickly became repetitious and, quite honestly, boring.

5.0 out of 5 stars simply a great masterpiece, 12 July 2012
this is one of bunuel's greatest films. a masterpiece. perfect from the acting to the script to the setting.
the film is 1000% bunuel, covering and including all the key elemnts of his cinematic vision.
the film won an extremely deserved academy award as best foreign laguage film (it was also nominated for best original screenplay) , plus many other important prizes.
you should not miss it!

This review is from: The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie (1972) [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This blu-ray is flawless. The video and audio quality is stellar (but not perfect) and the critical analysis by Peter Evans is a nice buy yet kind of pathetic extra. Highly recommended!
