5.0 out of 5 stars perfection
This is another budget(?) release from Flashlight. Nothing really new hear although the very very brief cd sleeve note indicates 'many unreleased rejected takes'. You really would have to be an Elvis Anorak to check around to see what is truly unreleased previously. However Elvis' vocals were sublime in '60 and '61 and listening to this disc is a very pleasing experience...

2.0 out of 5 stars Elvis Presley Fame and Fortune Lost in the sixties
Elvis was a true professional and perfectionist in the recording studio and it was a fact that he only wanted the very best quality and sound recordings released and it was reported at the time he did 30 tacks of Hound Dog back in 1956 before he thought it was right and perfect for a record release and that why this brilliant recording has stood the test of time and still...

The sound quality is magnificent of course in the early 60's Elvis was backed by Nashville's finest. This disc is well worth the money. Finally take 8 of Fame and Fortune will blow y'all away.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome release!, 19 Jun 2012
This review is from: Lost In The 60's: Fame & Fortune [NEW VERSION] (Audio CD)
Now this is an awesome release! perfect quality and many previously unreleased takes. Also got the other volume "LOST IN THE 60's : KISS ME QUICK" which is of the same quality! One of my favourites until now. Got all releases by this label and also enjoy the other ones daily. Elvis in the early 60's is often forgotten but when you listen to this disc you will hear why he was one of the best vocalists of all time.

Alas we do not have Elvis and i feel sure he would not like any material he rejected at the time to now be offered for sale as on this album and the 60s Kiss me Quick release the only real good tracks are the Masters that have already been released and most of the rejected tracks have hiss and not top quality sound and many of the false starts on the now released items are some what of a frustration to listern to,so regrettable i would say forget these two albums and buy the best and Elvis's choice of releases.

2.0 out of 5 stars Good package, arrived fastly but the inside was damaged, 3 Mar 2013

This review is from: Lost In The 60's: Fame & Fortune [NEW VERSION] (Audio CD)
The inside clear plastic part of the digipac was crashed into pieces, but the CD was itself in perfect condition. The package had no signs of outer damage so it must have been maltreated before it arrived to you.
