Impressed but pills large
on 29 August 2013
I was sceptical about such items for dogs particularly as I'm not convinced of the human yoghurts advertised in a similar manner. Anyway, my dog has odd stomach problems on and off and poo is fairly soft. A few days on these and the poo was a much better firmness and after a week there have been no "smells" or rumbling stomachs.
A friend at work has a 13 year old collie who sadly lost his friend recently, since then he has had a very poorly stomach, ended up on antibiotics. This helped him until the antibiotics ran out so I advised my friend to try these pills. He gave a couple on Friday night, by Saturday morning I had received a phonecall with my friend in an excited manner, "They've worked, they've worked" he declared. His dogs stools were solid and the dog much happier. Saved going back to the vets for the third time and hopefully can adjust the pill dosage down to prolong how long they last.
The packet and tub have all the information printed on them along with dosage. What I would say is a problem is the size. I have a large dog who is happy to take most pills, first time I chucked one of these at him he caught it in his mouth and then spat it out. He stared at it before eating it. These pills are about 1 cm long but half a cm wide, similar to some multivitamin pills for humans. I'm guessing small breeds would be really difficult if you can't cut the pills up. I can't find anything to say you can't do this.
