This book does not contain any new material from Marshall Rosenberg,

Rather it is a compilation of the 6 short books:
We can work it out
Being me, loving you
Getting past the pain between us
The Surprising Purpose of Anger
Raising Children Compassionately
Practical Spirituality

If you have some or most of these books (I had 4) this probably isn't a grab unless you have people you want to pass them onto.

I would also prefer it hadn't excluded one of these short books entitled:
" The Heart of Social Change: How to Make a Difference in Your World. "
and merged into the child rearing section "Teaching Children Compassionately: How Students and Teachers Can Succeed with Mutual Understanding (Nonviolent Communication Guides)"
as I do not own those two, they seemed an unnecessary ommission for this compilation

If you don't have many or any of the books in this compilation then this is a great grab to suppliment Nonviolent Communication as it is full of transcriptions of role-plays where you can see the method at work. Of course the best way to learn NVC is to practice it yourself but these conversations can help you learn how.

I think it's worth digesting this very difficult but basically a hundred per cent worthy way of problem solving. I'm grappling with the simplicity of the methodology though, as human beings are so complicated. Also grappling with the idea that non violent communication can be applied to all situations all the time - at heart it's the Christian Message: Love heals everything

Wonderful reading experience! So helpful! I would recommend this book to anyone. The world would indeed be a wonderful place if everyone was to come from their heart in every interaction. This book shows the way.

A wonderful introduction to NVC giving many practical examples of how it had been applied in some very difficult situations. I love the compassionate basis of this work, both to ourselves and others. It is a practise that teaches how to listen deeply to ourselves and others thus building a way of connection and communication that honours, respects and looks for solutions. I highly recommend it

Used it with an Eastern European audience - some pretty traumatized people - very user-friendly & helpful to them
