This title was an impulse purchase and not my usual genre. It is quite funny and interesting and worth a read. It is a little dated, being written at the end of the nineties, and is set mainly in the fifties. The key to getting it is to realise that it isn't "serious" fiction, but more the musings of a creative mind remembering a childhood in the fifties. As someone a little younger than that, I was fascinated by what was apparently normal for those days. The characters were believable, although the situations were somewhat less so, but funny nonetheless. If you want an amusing trip into that period, I would recommend it.
