I bought this gate for my 8 week old mini dachshund puppy and it is absolutely perfect! Great quality, easy to install and the bars are narrow enough that even the tinniest of pups (and babies alike!) are kept safe and secure.

Just right for the top of our stairs. Secure fit once fitted. Easy to install. Wide walk through. Simple to use. Step over bar not high at all. Good value for money. No negatives whatsoever for this.

I bought 3 of these gates to keep my 1 year old son safe! I love them, it was SO easy to put in place, took under 5 minutes for each gate, there's no gluing silly plastic cups to the wall, no drilling holes, just put the gate between the door frame and screw the bolts tight, it even comes with the spanner! These gates look awesome and fit in with house decor, I have black carpets and black and white wallpaper so yeh love these gates, I've had safety gates before as I have 2 other children who are 7 and 5 now, I had the lindum gates with them but these ones are a mile better, would definately recomend them :)

Very happy with this product. It came promptly the next day after ordering.Took me less than 10 mins to install and was very straightforward. It's very secure (obviously dependent upon you tightening it adequately) and I have found opening it complicated enough for my son not to learn how to do it for a while yet but easy enough to do one handed when Im carrying him . We have installed this at the bottom of the stairs and are now looking for an alternative for the top as I think the lower bar would be a trip hazard. Very happy!

purchased this product to prevent the dog from going upstairs and, as the banister has spindles and it doesn't actually include the final step which is curved, it wasn't suitable for a standard safety gate with screwed fixings. the only advice I would pass on is - if you don't have a perfectly straight stairway and intend to use this on a stair tread rather than at the foot of the stairway - take time to actually measure the width from wall to wall as you may need an extender piece. suits my needs (dog no longer interested in going upstairs), great value for money and fast delivery; the only negative comments would be that I am not sure this gate would be as secure as a screw mounted version in ensuring the safety of small children - it will move if weight is thrown against it. Plus - the matt black finish is a bit dark and dreary. the negative comments are mainly for parents - as a pet restricter it's great! ;D

To be honest I didn't have any option but to go for a BabyDan model gate as they seem to be the ONLY brand which offer a slightly narrower width fitting compared to every other I looked at.

I have come to realise my doorway in question must be an awkward size, which is 73 1/2 cm, the standard width on every gate I have looked at (which believe me was lots and has took me ages!) is 75 cm so I was delighted when I came across this one which states it fits gaps from 73 1/2. (you can get and I did look at narrow fit gates but due to their design they would close the walk through gap down by way too much).

The problem I have is Yes it does fit the gap spot on however the opening/lock handle mechanism is really tricky to open with two hands let alone one! and the lock/handle also looks/feels a little flimsy so not sure if this will last long, but luckily for us this is only used for a dog gate/barrier for a small dog when required so it will be left open most of the time. My advice is if you have the standard width opening and don't need to worry about the gap then look at something else instead such as LINDAM which I have used for years on other doorways and have never had a problem with.

I spent ages reviewing gates and wondering what type to get and whether i would need to screw it to the wall etc......

These involve NO screwing, it is purely pressure and they are fantastic. Perfect fit and easy to open when holding a baby in other arm. My son spends time standing up at the gates and has even begun shaking, they havent moved at all.
I would definitely recommend these gates.

In-laws have just ordered the same.

We purchased this to stop my son entering the kitchen while we are cooking. It does this well. It was easy to fit, but not so easy that we would like to repeatedly take it out and put it back once it is in you are going to want to leave it there. In order to open the gate you have to squeeze two buttons, lift a leaver and then lift the whole gate up before swinging it. This is quite awkward to do and to my mind is a bit overkill on the safety front.

We purchased the gate to keep our new puppy out of the kitchen, and it has proved a resounding success. It took just a few minutes to fit to the door-frame. The locking mechanism is easy to operate one-handed and seems very secure. Some previous reviewers have stated that the gate may easily be pushed open by a toddler, but our three year-old granddaughter couldn't operate the opening mechanism, even after being shown how to do it.
