This review is from: The Confessions of Lady Beatrice (Kindle Edition)
Although advertised as published in 1900 by the Erotica Biblion Society this is more likely to be a late 20th cent production by someone familiar with the Victorian erotic classic "My Secret Life".
Written in a bewildering and annoying "Stream of Conscious" style reminiscent of Gertrude Stein on a bad day, it is reasonably well put together. The Kindle version has typographical mistakes in abundance. Just one instance being the word cunny appearing as"gunny" throughout the text. This being only one example of many.. As to the plot-basically their isn't one Just a group of mainly female characters who under the excuse of "training" each other indulge in a continuous round of whipping, tying up, and a mania for sticking their fingers into each other's bottoms. There is incest between father, uncle and aunt with Beatrice, her sister and their adopted daughter. Not to mention the stripping , thrashings, and fingering..All this takes place in a variety of combinations that includes everyone from the Lady Beatrice of the title and her sister down through a hierarchy of friends, visitors and any servant or tradesman who crosses their path.
Why anyone would allow themselves to be involved in all this is never really explained and remains a bit of a mystery. Like most erotica of this type the characters live in a world where the reality is only a distant memory.
At under a pound for the Kindle version it is worth a punt if only for it's curiosity value

Again a well written book by someone who who has a strong command of the English language. A good strong story line right through to the end of the book

An interesting semi-erotic tale told in the Victorian manner. Somewhat disjointed and improbable in places it is never-the- less an enjoyable enough read of its type.
