The user interface is simple and crisp, but the touchscreen and processor are really slow. When you press any button or the touchscreen, you have to wait two or three seconds before you can press any other button. That includes adjusting the volume, and then trying to skip a track (as an example).
The sound is good, and the sound adjustment feature (e.g. more bass, or more clarity) is really simple and unique. The ease of use with Windows and Windows Media Play is excellent.
The random/shuffle play is anything but, which you will soon discover if you have a long playlist, as you might with an 8GB player. In shuffle mode, the Muse will play the last song that was played, and then play the same sequence of songs every time. As an example, if you have 700 songs, it will play the same songs in the same order. It's the worst random play function I've ever experienced with an MP3/MP4 player.
