This product will last a lifetime it is so well made and presses garlic simply and effectively. Very easy to clean as the mesh chamber comes out for a good scrub.

I wouldn't say this is a bad garlic crusher, but its not Delux by any means.
It corrodes on the first time you put it in the dishwasher. white spots appear all over the head (not the handle), which tells me it is not stainless steel, just the handle is stainless and the rest will not last long.

Dont buy it, go to the shops and pick one you can check out first.
AND
After reading the other reviews, having discovered it is an ikea product, being sold on here for more than Ikea would!
I now feel like I was diddled and I need to double triple check everything I buy on amazon.

Shame, lame, but I'll live.

Although this garlic press is available from IKEA cheaper than this vendor offers, it sadly is not at the IKEA in my home town, or my sister's home town, and they wouldn't deliver it either. So the price that this seller is charging doesn't seem very unreasonable to me.

I have had more expensive garlic crushers that didn't work nearly as well. This is just a dream, as I hate having to peel garlic before giving it over to the mercies of the crusher. You can just put your fully clothed cloves in there and the crusher will happily do it's business and leave the skin behind to pick out. I've also done two to three cloves at a time when they've been small, and it worked fabulously.

My advice is to get it from IKEA if you can, but if you can't it's worth the extra couple of quid to obtain it from this seller.

Stops for nothing; Garlic, Ginger, Small flying creatures, fingers, small planets, you name it.
Destroys all items attempted with such gusto and pressure that one is considering purchasing safety goggles and including some form of warning label: be aware Garlic is ejected from this device at such speed you really need to aim it properly. Seriously.

For reference - it is an IKEA item that may be cheaper in an actual IKEA Store, but to have it delivered to your door is more convenient and saves you buying a million tea lights, a funky lamp that you'll get annoyed with in minutes, and another non-stick wok that feels like good value simply because you can't be bothered to buy a Carbon Steel one from the local Chinese Supermarket and look after it properly....

I just don't know what to say. I bought this thinking it was a stainless steel pipe- I was going to get so high with my buddies, instead we ended up making garlic bread. Now I put garlic with everything, and I no longer have the desire to do drugs. Garlic is my new addiction. My GP says this is a very positive change, however garlic has its setbacks. My girlfriend has become very distant and no longer wants to kiss. Oh well, I'm off drugs so, every cloud...just had a bit of garlic.

Just to clarify, this is the best thing I've ever bought. I seriously recommend

Its incredibly strong and sturdily built and will hopefully last. If it breaks before I die I don't know what I will do. Maybe buy another! So you better keep them in stock.

Julian

As a chef, I've never been a fan of garlic presses, they never seemed to quite do the job properly, or maybe I'm just fussy. This one is different - one is left with very little unpressed garlic, which can be swiftly dealt with on a chopping board - the removable grille makes it a synch to clean, it's robust, doesn't rust or rot, and is designed by Ikea. What's not to like? Well worth the money, and I would recommend it unhesitatingly. There are just no cons, only pros! Heavy Duty Deluxe Stainless Steel Garlic Press

This arrived quite quickly but when u open it u'll notice an ikea sticker on it. I paid £7 for it when u can get it for £2.50 from ikea.

Apart from that, decent crusher can put in 3 cloves with out taking skins off them.

I have had something against garlic presses for most of my adult life. I'm not really sure how or why this came about but it is deeply ingrained in my subconscious. Freud might say that my mother was a garlic press and whilst she did, as any dutch Protestant mother would, try to squeeze the life out of me, her cooking never rose to the use of an "exotic" ingredient like garlic

Imagine my anxiety when, after years of squashing it with a large heavy blade and then picking all the outer skin off, my girlfriend that she would no longer tolerate the absence of said piece of kitchen equipment. When she says that you hae to repond positively or pay the price (the price incidentally, is the title of one of the tracks on her eponymous debut album, Andrea Glass; stood under stars - or as iTunes had it "under stairs"!! - maybe she had a Dutch mother too).

But I digress. being the cheapskate that I am I shot off to the Co-Op for bargain and some divvy points and 3-4 hours later the item was in the bin - at Andrea's suggestion, not mine. well at least I had the divvy points, that are now worthless since the Co-Op got into porn trouble

This item was my next attempt at salvation. IT IS A GEM!!! I am converted. Stick the clove in, skin and all a quick squeeze and all that is left in the press is the skin, that comes out real easy. I sometimes cook a cajun supper for 40-50 people and that involves 3-4 BULBS (not cloves) of garlic. I'm telling you people, even if you don't like garlic you should have one of these on stand-by - and anyway it is a nice matt stainless steel and looks good as well

We recently bought a garlic press from Tesco costing more than this one, and it broke very soon after. This one has no plastic parts connecting the steel and I'm sure it will last a long time! A quality product!

Felt swindled when I first discovered that it's a £2.25 IKEA garlic press - not difficult, it was wrapped in IKEA packaging when it arrived.
However, it would have cost me more than the price difference (I paid £5.19 altogether) in fuel or a bus ticket to drive to the closest IKEA store, or alternatively have it delivered by someone else, such as a very happy taxi driver.

Just saying: this was the best deal FOR ME despite 'concept4u' selling IKEA products, you naughty people.
