Edsel release all three of The Beat's back catalogue as 2CD + DVD digipak. It includes b-sides, non album a-sides, live material plus BBC sessions to make this the ultimate CD edition.
The only down side to 'Special Beat Service' is that unfortunately the Dave Allen and United States of America remixes of 'I Confess' are one of the same. The mix which is missing begins with the word 'Confess' being heavily echoed at the beginning and in my view is the better remix of the song. Hopefully the error will be corrected.

I BOUGHT THIS ON LP WHEN IT WAS FIRST RELEASED & IT WAS A GREAT ALBUM OF GREAT TUNES FROM THE BEAT.
IT WAS THEIR 3RD STUDIO ALBUM & LAST.AS WITH THEIR 1ST & 2ND ALBUM (I JUST CAN'T STOP IT & WHA'PPEN)IT WAS FULL OF GREAT SONGS.THE STAND OUT TRACKS FOR ME IS SAVE IT FOR LATER,I CONFESS & SOLE SALVATION.
THIS CLASSIC ALBUM HAS NOW BEEN REISSUED WITH A BONUS CD & DVD FULL OF EXCELLENT MATERIAL.
IF YOU BOUGHT THIS ALBUM WAY BACK IN '82 THEN I WOULD SAY BUY THE REISSUE A MUST FOR ALL FANS OF THE BEAT & THE 2TONE

ska/2-tone music of the highest calibre with lots of echo chamber sound affects by the producer(B.Sargeant) + engineer().
NB: if you need a 12" vinyl record to test a record deck then grab this one to audition your selections in your quality local hifi shop.
originally on vinyl, cassette and then in mid80's an early un-re-mastered CD from USA, then remastered in 2004 on CD in UK/row.
this (2012) deluxe-edn-CD is 2CD+DVD long in a digipack sleeve plus extensive notes in a neat booklet now all on budget Edsel (sub-Demon) (sub-Warner) label.
CD1 => original album + 12"extds + 12"dub + non-album cuts
CD2 => 12"extds + prev.unreleased + 5 live cuts + "can't get used to losing you" (1983 remix) + 12"USA-remix + John Peel BBC Radio2 sessions + Jensen Live.
DVD => video singles + TOTP(BBC1) + bonus [Tube(ch4TV)+OTT(ITV)] live perf.
overall ultra-high VFM reissue (long awaited) - will sell out very quickly i reckon.
3rd of 3 albums in 1982/3. everything on vinyl+VHS from that final year.
