A bittersweet little tale of closed-mindedness and prejudice as experienced through the eyes of a lonely girl who has just been shunned by friends and family. The paranormal twist beautifully knitted two necessary pieces of the story into one subtly illuminating finale.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great way to give a pound to charity., 24 Mar 2012

Great little tale with a twist. Better than sticking a pound in a pot for charity, you get a short story to enjoy with your cuppa. Really takes you back to the 80's with all the attitudes to go with them. If you're an Ashfordian at heart you'll recognise some locations from your childhood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just buy it, 2 July 2012
This review is from: Embarrassment (Kindle Edition)
Nice short story, well told, and with believable characters. Brought back a lot of memories of the 80s and my own dysfunctional extended family. I won't give away the ending, but it's one of those that makes you want to read the whole thing again when you have a different perspective on what the story is about.

This is a gem of a short story.Leaves you thinking about the issues afterwards.A tale of peoples small mindedness and discrimination, with a twist at the end.

Its also a nostalgic trip back to the 80s and the history of Ashford in Kent.
Without giving to much away about the end,its a tragic thought provoking tale.A good short read for a well deserving trust.
