4.0 out of 5 stars A Disc Of Two Halves, 20 July 2013
This review is from: If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting (Audio CD)
This was released in 1980 as an introduction to new guitarist "Big" John Thomas
Originally a 4 track 12" EP & my opinion hasn't changed since I first bought a copy the week of original release

One truly great track (Panzer)
Two pretty good (Wildfire & Lies)
One incredibly naff (High School Girls) which made me cringe even at the age of 16

The remastered version here sound s cleaner but they've added 2 bootleg quality live tracks

I should probably give it less than 4 stars but Panzer really is that good

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 12 Jun 2012
This review is from: If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting (Audio CD)
Time has gone in a flash so recalling the excitement & fun of records like this, from over 30 years ago, is no problem. There's nothing else out there nowadays that comes close.

Released at the time of the power metal classic Power Supply, 1980 was THE year for metal records. John Thomas' ball-vibrating guitar is perhaps the most underated of rock history. Hats off to Burke Shelley too for embracing this far heavier brand of Budgie rock.

Hope this release indicates more gems will be released, and that Burke & John are doing well.

Great EP from a great band, now remastered by Budgie and includes two live tracks from that era.

Tracks:
1. Wild Fire 2. High School Girls 3. Panzer Division Destroyed 4. Lies Of Jim (The E-Type Lover) 5. Hight School Girls (Live 1980) 6. Panzer Division Destroyed (Live 1980)

I managed to get my copy signed so am delighted.

5.0 out of 5 stars If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting - Budgie, 24 July 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting (Audio CD)
If Swallowed Do Not Induce Vomiting was originally released as a 12" EP in July 1980 and was used to "break in" new guitarist "Big" John Thomas who had been brought into the band to replace Tony Bourge. The EP marks a slight change in Budgie's sound with a more straight forward Hard Rock / Heavy Metal sound on "Wild Fire" and "High School Girls". While these are two good tracks in their own right they are not a patch on the quite legendary "Panzer Division Destroyed" & "Lies of Jim (The E Type Lover)" which show that Burke Shelley had lost none of his creative genius!

This re-mastered CD has two bonus tracks with live versions of "High School Girls" and "Panzer Division Destroyed" which while nice to have don't add that much to a quite splendid EP!

1. Wild Fire
2. High School Girls
3. Panzer Division Destroyed
4. Lies of Jim (The E Type Lover)
5. High School Girls (Live - 1980)
6. Panzer Division Destroyed (Live - 1980)

BG's: This CD is a must have for fans of legendary Welsh rockers Budgie and for fans of great hard rock music in general...it rocks hard people! 10/10
