5.0 out of 5 stars Obviously these men got hotter with age!
Richard - liberal, responsible sole parent to an 8 year old. Logan - ex military, used to don't ask, don't tell. The two of them together make chalk and cheese look like siamese twins but somehow they work. And this story definitely works. Nick is very believable as a character, and is an excellent foil for the hot sex between Logan and Richard - they have to find the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good and worth reading but could be better
I read this book after reading and enjoying Bear, Otter and the Kid by TJ Klune, which has a similar story line about two gay guys falling in love, one with a child with a mother gone but not out of the picture. This had less of a story keeping it together and far to much sex for a book with such a story. Please m/m book writers either write an erotic novel with a weak...

The two of them together make chalk and cheese look like siamese twins but somehow they work. And this story definitely works. Nick is very believable as a character, and is an excellent foil for the hot sex between Logan and Richard - they have to find the time to be together whilst considering the sensibilities of a young boy and handle the trauma of a potential custody battle, kidnapping, and their major differences of view.

I saved this for a weekend when I could totally switch off and enjoy it and I'm glad I did - I loved it, from start to finish. Z A Maxfield is pretty much an auto buy for me and this story just confirms why. Five stars without a doubt.

I have read a number of books by this author but I have to say this one is the best so far. They are all good don't take me wrong but this is tender and funny and with a bit of tension...just throughly enjoyable. For those ones that want to read a story and not just a leaflet of sex scenes with some comments in between ... then this is your book.

This had less of a story keeping it together and far to much sex for a book with such a story. Please m/m book writers either write an erotic novel with a weak plot and lots of sex or a strong character led story with a bit of m/m sex thrown in. This would have been a better book if the story had been more of the plot than the sex was.
