I was very annoyed when my darling wife bought a light for the dining room that had 3 halogen capsule bulbs in it. After having replaced the bulbs many times and grumbling about the cost of both the frequent replacements and the electricity usage, I decided to try an LED replacement. I have been trying to change all the bulbs in our house over to low energy versions which has been met with a mediocre from the other members of the family - most of the complaints stem from the fact that the low energy versions are 1, not as bright, 2, take too long to come on or 3, the "wrong colour" light.

I can finally recommend a halogen replacement that beats the original bulb on all these counts!

This bulb switches on instantly (i think it actually beats the halogen!), is the same brightness as a 40w halogen and the colour quality is a tiny shade whiter than the previous bulbs - all for an 1/8 of the power consumption! When I say that the colour is "whiter", I don't mean those deathly white blue daylight bulbs, but simply a tiny bit whiter - in my opinion, the RIGHT colour! It is in fact similar to the expensive GE brand halogen bulbs I use for retail purposes (50W dichroic).

The only other differences with this bulb are that it is physically larger and there must be enough room in the shade to allow for this and the fitting is a little fiddly to insert (I guess this shouldn't matter since it is unlikely to be replaced for a LONG time!).

Finally, the light dispersion pattern is really good - the halogen bulb makes patterns on the ceiling that are the same shape as the filament but the LED bulb makes none, just a uniform white glow.

I used the auroaglow 3W bulbs to replace 5 x 40w bulbs in my kitchen. The light is not quite as bright as the original bulbs (but not by much), but is definately bright enough to eat and do the kids homework under.
I would definately recommend this product.

What's Good : Very efficient, decent light output.
what's not so good : colour temperature slightly higher than expected nearer 4000K I'd say. and the lamps are much bigger than I thought... consider the width before buying.

These produce a good bright even spread of light, once you get used to the corn on the cob shape they are excellent. Suggest that you measure carefully before purchase to ensure bulbs fit appliance - they are quite large. I fitted them to a 3 smoked glass round globe floor lamp and they were perfect. If the globes had been plain clear glass the bulbs might have looked ungainly when not lit, plus if they protruded from the globes it would have looked odd.

Time will tell if the promoted hours lifespan will justify the initial outlay but it's satisfying to turn on LEDs at night knowing they are costing you next to nothing.

The LED bulb that we purchased is amazing. We only bought one to see what it was like but we will be getting more. The light it emits is different to that of a normal bulb but once you get used to it, it is fine.

No complaint about the bulb itself: lovely bright light that comes on instantly.

Sadly the bulb is really big, and the picture really doesn't do the size justice. They're 70mm long and 30mm in diameter (2" long by 1.25" in old money). That's way too big to fit inside my light fittings so sadly I need to return them.

However if you can fit them, I'd recommend them.

The bulbs look and feel like a quality product.

They are just as bright as the 40w halogens they replaced if not a touch brighter.

The light is a little whiter than the yellow glow from the halogens, but still a warm colour.

Definately worth checking they will fit your lights as they are considerably bigger than standard g9 bulbs, but other than that, I would highly recommend and I will be buying more.

I have purchased 3 of these bulbs because I was fed up of replacing the halogen equifilent as they continually blew. As soon as I put these in my wife spoke of how much better they looked than the halogen one's as our lamp contained 3 which could be seen through some hanging crystals, at time of writing this reveiw we have not had a bulb blow.

Ho comprato la lampadina da circa 20 giorni non l'accendo molto ma per quello che la uso funziona a dovere.
Unica cosa di cui non sono contento è la lunghezza,effettivamente per dove la dovevo mettere è troppo grande ma ho risolto tagliando parte dell'involucro. Ma è colpa mia che non l'ho verificato bene le misure.
In zona una lampadina LED da 1,5w mi è costata 17euro
