Perfect for the price! LG topping them selves again!,

This review is from: LG 32LM3400 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LED Cinema 3D TV with Freeview (Electronics)
I bought this TV as part as my birthday present, Im personally not a HUGE fan of 3D but i enjoy them when i watch them at the cinema.I was looking for a TV which was a decent size for my bedroom and to replace my old 24" TV which i could not really experience Blu-Ray at its highest point. So i stumbled on to this TV and a perfect size plus 3D which is a bonus. I started to watch the price because it kept jumping from £300 to £380 and anything in between, so once i had the money i snatched it when the price was £318.00, which is a brilliant price. (So a piece of advice; always watch this item for etleast two weeks incase it goes to a lower price!) So to my review. I find the picture quality: Astounding! When plugged into a Blu-Ray the picture quality is very crisp and close to perfect. The sound: It has the perfect balance; It can be very loud when wants to be and very quiet when needed, currently I am getting rid of my Sony 5.1 surround sound because I enjoy the sound so much! 3D mode: Personally has just purchased a Sony BDP S480 3D Blu-ray Player so I have yet to experience a Blu-Ray 3D, But I also have Sky 3D and I watched all of the London 2012 opening ceremony and it was apsaloutley Superb! Couldn't ask for much of a telly this size! Also the 2d to 3d mode is much better than i was expecting! I watched 30 minutes of The Dark Knight (from 2d to 3d) and it amazed me why they didn't relase a 3d copy because its great! in my opinion the 2D to 3D Rivals actual 3D!. Also I highly recommend LG's range of 'Cinema 3D' TV's due to saving money on glasses which you can get at the cinema (plus you get four 3D glasses free with this TV) and to me I don't find any difference between Passive and Active 3D TV's! Also this TV is just full of surprises; I think the time and date is very cool and also handy in certain times, and the Energy Saving button is very useful if you like keeping the bills down by switching the TV into 'Energy saving' mode, its also handy when you rather not have your TV so bright (Like if your trying to get to sleep, etc.) Overall; Visuals- 5/5 Sound- 5/5 3D- 4/5 (Yet to watch an actual 3D Blu-Ray) Price-5/5 No negatives in the 3/2 weeks iv'e owned the TV! As you can see I'm very happy with my purchase!

Only had it two days but so far very impressed.Fantastic value for money.Good TV picture even on non HD sources and so far the 3D picture on Sky is excellent, much better than I expected given it uses only passive glasses .4 pairs of glasses provided free as well. Also connected it up as a PC monitor. All my digital pictures look very sharp.

Product ordered 10pm Tuesday Arrived today (Thursday) 1430 excellent. Will update this once i have had it a week or so, but on first few hours play, it sure hits the mark. Out of the box and set up connected to my virgin box, and TV working within 30mins. It does take around that to get the stand set up as well so an hour in total. Played 3d content from virgin on demand service and results great, the 3d looked excellent and pic quality fantastic, no flickering or ghosting at all. can't wait for blu ray and discs to arrive to see how they work. 2d-3d conversion cranked the 3d effect up to full and does look good, better than i expected. Lot of depth, but as this is only conversion nothing popping out the screen. As i said once i have used it for a week or so i will update this review, but on my experience on the first few hours is BRILLIANT !!, would recommend this Tv, excellent value for money, even without 3d and just on HD this tv is worth the money Picture is great clear and bright.

Great TV, Great Picture and Good Sound,
This review is from: LG 32LM3400 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready LED Cinema 3D TV with Freeview (Electronics)
I didn't buy the TV for 3D but am really impressed with it. Includes 4 pairs of glasses which is great. Picture is great and can be viewed from many angles with easy swivel base meaning can point tv anywhere, quick. Sounds good, no problems there.Split screen gaming really cool (each person wears glasses and sees their screen as a whole....so not split screen!) Interface for tv guide and viewing media great too....plays avi files and look at pictures etc. Looks very professional. Overall, a great TV and 100% worth the price. I would ignore negative comments as people can be stupidly picky...although as of yet I am the 2nd reviewer! I would recommend anyone to buy ! :D

3D: I bought the this TV for the 3d capability of the set. i have to say i was impressed...well not completely. the passive 3d is good but you need to sit right in-front of the telly or at a certain angle to have 3d. also since it is a 720p tv playing games like call of duty and such was okay but not great. what i am saying is this is not a bad tv but 3d is not GREAT on it. if you are going to buy this TV buy it for the fact that it is a hdtv, and think of the 3d as more of an add-on.besides, after watching 3d for about half an hour you forget that it is even 3d!speakers: what people are saying about the speakers is just not true. i am still confused by what the problem is with them? i mean they aren't a revolution in speakers by any standard. they do not have much base but it is loud and clear enough to watch a movie or play a game on it. 2d - 3d: 2d to 3d is actually okay. you will not get 3d that is coming out of the tv or anything, but it is...meh. even so 90 percent of what i have watched on this 3dtv is not pop out 3d but more like you are looking into the tv. dual play: dual play is pretty mediocre really. it works but it does not filter out most of the other players image, leaving you sometimes confused to what screen you are supposed to focus on. conclusion: i would give it a 7/10. it is an average tv. i went to buy this with high expectations and was presented with.... average. not impressed but not dissapointed.

I bought one of these for less than what Amazon are asking for it now (£400) but even at the current Amazon price of £489.99 this is a great television. The only thing that needed doing to it was to screw the stand into place and that took less than three minutes. The tv is surprisingly light and I could manage this on my own. Once the stand was screwed into place and the tv turned on with all cables attached (for SKY, Wii, a blu ray player and a multi region DVD player) the television leads you through a very simple set up and within 5 minutes you are watching television. The standard settings for the TV are overly bright and the colour is set too high but the television comes with a great facility to let you set the colour, brightness, contrast etc... and I had a great picture I was happy with within minutes. TV comes with 4 sets of lightweight 3-D glasses. These are large enough to fit over a normal pair of spectacles with ease and comfort. The television can also transform normal 2-D TV programmes to 3-D. Although this is not as affective as specifically designed 3-D it's a pretty good approximation. The sound is a tad tinny but is well within the normal ranges. This did not bother me too much as I am using a 7.1 amplifier for the sound on all the appliances anyway. The sound from the TV lacks any real depth but it's adequate. Considering that the television this one was replacing cost me £2500 5 years ago (a Toshiba Regza) I was astounded at how much technology has moved on. This LG television is spectacular and at this price is an absolute bargain. Highly recommended.

This TV is an excellent piece of technology, the 3D is stunning (only used it for gaming and the one film) and the 2D-3D is also amazing, as it can be used for anything, even when using the TV as a screen for a computer. The TV itself is really easy to set up and comes with everything that is needed. The glasses do the trick and are lightweight, so they do not strain your face after wearing them for so long.Overall, excellent TV and I'm glad I bought it for myself.

Hi, when I first saw the item, I was really confused because it had everything I was looking for. I mean honestly I was looking for a only LED tv 42 Inch and with minimum 100 Hz refresh rate for £300. But this model of LG had everything plus it had 3D. But its price was only £385. I always purchased either Sony or Samsung. This is my first LG product. Trust me guys this product is amazing. I thought for a long long time should I get it or not. Then I read the customer experiences. I relied on their experiences. And it was rewarding. and I was the lucky guy who was able to grab the last piece for £385.The 3D performance from a 3D HD source is Superb. Gave me the same feeling that I get when I am watching a 3D movie in IMAX/Cineworld. For this price range it is one of the best that I have seen in Market. Passive 3D does not affect your expectations. I am using PS3 as my 3D blu ray player. Playing Batman Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Motorstorm in 3D. I got a new kind of gaming experience. Trust me. The feelings are really really good. Watched 3D blu ray movies like Despicable me, Cloudy, Happy Feet 2. In One word. Its superb. Sound quality is Good. (Not Best). Loud, Clear. But i have not complaint. If anyone requires better sound then my request will be to buy an extra Home Theater System/ a Sound BAR with this TV. This TV will not disappoint you. Got 4 pairs of 3D glasses. My whole family can watch movies with me. And the viewing angles are great as well. Normal 2D picture quality is perfect. Used the USB slot of this TV wo connect my DSLR with it. Pictures look accurate on the TV. It plays mp3 files without any problem. I mean. Guys . If you are looking for a Genuine Brand Item. In a Budget. with Amazing performance then look no further. This is the best item. My Advice: Instead of paying Other Brands £1500 for a 42 Inch 3D LED, go for this model. Because this model can give you all the facilities that an expensive model will. LG rocks. From now on LG has hypnotized me with their quality, performance & price. From now on, I will buy everything electrical from LG.

VERY GOOD BUDGET 3DTV!!!,

This review is from: LG 42LM3400 42-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LED Cinema 3D TV with Freeview (Electronics)
GOOD NEWS:Absolutely fantastic picture.. I cannot fault it AT ALL.. and usually I'm a bit skeptical about LG's stuff. Good connectivity with 3 HDMI, PCVGA+sound, Composite and enhanced video (S-VHS type), TOS-link for optical out, CI Slot, USB and Ethernet (more on this later). Absolutely fabulous passive 3D! Really very pleasantly surprised considering the limitations of 'passive' in general, in terms of screen resolution when this is active (half the lines given to one side, half to the other). You don't see the horizontal banding too much for it to be a problem - even some more expensive TV's can have a slight issue with this. On the Playstation, I played Sonic the Hedgehog (3D) and it blew me away, then played a bit of GT5... really very immersive gaming. 2D->3D is surprisingly impressive too and seems to be really intelligently thought out. BAD NEWS (BUT!): Sound is truly absolutely terrible with the built in speakers.. really very tinny even with the bass to maximum, which can distort - it's really awful. Please don't let this put you off though as this can be plugged into a home theatre or it can be just as easily be plugged into a HiFi (headphone socket) for excellent sound quality. The picture quality is what truly sells this TV and I really cannot stress this enough. It's one of the best from the budget bunch and could even give a few mid-rangers a run for their money. OTHER INFO: Ethernet- This is *NOT a smart TV* but it does allow you to link to a router for DLNA connection and it seems to work flawlessly with my Nokia E7-00. DLNA is only there to view pictures, movies and music from a storage device (PC/PlayStation/smartphone) by network connection. My wireless router (Virgin Media Hub) seems to handle it ok - Wireless from mobile -> Ethernet to TV. This Ethernet connection will also allow software updates. At the time of writing the last update from LG was 4th-DEC-2012, so it's worth checking to make sure yours is up to date.- DON'T FORGET TO REGISTER YOUR TV FOR THE LG WARRANTY!! Controls are standard LG fare nothing special but there are plenty of functions to do the jobs you need it to do - setting up 3D can be a bit fiddly though. By the way, the dual screen option is useful but uses the same polarisation method as the 3D glasses so this cannot be used at the same time. (one side plays one picture, the other side plays the other picture). If you want a 'Smart TV' try looking at Chinavasion.com as they can sell you a 1.5GHz Dual Core, Android 4.1 PC on a stick(!), you can connect it to the HDMI slot, and use a bluetooth mouse and keyboard.. quite cheap too. CONCLUSION: Poor poor sound. Picture (WOW!) second to none - fully recommended, 3D is amazing considering the general limitation of passive 3D...DLNA near flawless. BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!! |
