These tent pegs are expensive, but worth the money. They're the same as the originals that came with my Outwell tent - I wanted a few more, as you only get about 6. They're rock-solid steel, and feature both a hole in the top so you can use a peg extractor, as well as a protruding hook on the other side to hook your rope into. One thing to bear in mind is that the protruding hook doesn't protrude that much - probably about 5 or 6mm, so it won't easily hook thick rope. It's fine for normal guy ropes though.
There's no problem smashing these pegs into hard or soft ground (just angle them as they go in to the ground).

The delivery was fast and the quality and strength of the design is perfect for an anchor peg the half round shape means that its holding capabilitis are increased the more it is under pressure, and the protection Galvanised ? looks effective.
But I have one big reservation (le hence the 4 stars) the hooks that are designed to accept the guy's have exceedingly sharp inner edges so if the guys are not fitted with a metal ring (which would have to be welded joint and more than 2.5cm dia) the cord would be cut at the first light tension it would be like having twq pair of scissors on the cord.
