If you are a Thompson Twins fan you will most likely have all of these albums. The main reason for the purchase of this collection was for the album 'Set'. In the hope of hearing this album on CD in clear non vinyl sound for the first time was going to be magic. Sadly the transfer of this album is unfortunately from vinyl and a very very very poor transfer at that.
I was extremely unhappy and can't believe that Sony/BMG have got to these kind of standards. I did a much better vinyl transfer for own use and it sounds far superior.
The remainder of the albums appear to be stock standard without any bonus tracks.
All in all this release is ok but at the same time very disappointing.

Quality may not be great on weedy PC speakers but on my car stereo with a massive sub woofer the sound is terrific. I had forgotten how good the Thompson Twins were until I saw Tom Bailey play at Henley Rewind Festival last weekend, he now sounds even better than before and since I only have worn out cassettes I bought in the 80s I thought a box set of all 5 albums for less than £13 is excellent value. Very pleased with it.

the first 4 albums are lacking in clarity, as they are taken from the original masters i believe, but are still good enough to listen 2, album 2 in the set has the poorest sound, best album for sound is the fifth in the set, ans still my favourite album, cant understand why some people don't rate it, even the thompson twins say its their weakest album, i enjoy it that's all that matters
