Not bad, particularly Soulvaki & the brilliant Pygmalion, but you really ought to consider buying Cherry Red's expanded 2-disc reissues if you want to hear the whole Slowdive story - they include all the EP tracks, along with Peel sessions & assorted demos (only the below-par Sunday flexi is absent) & are indispensable, frankly. :)

Great value for 3 fine CDs. If you are unfamiliar with the shoegaze genre and slowdive in particular then this atmospheric music with a sombre tone. Layers of echoed guitar, soft melodic vocals. Quite psychedelic. I came to this via prog, floyd, eno etc. Slowdive are less discordant than the better known My Bloody Valentine.
The only down point is the packaging which is cheap, basic cardboard, but I guess that why its cheap.

The bargain price would be worth paying if only for Souvlaki, the shoegaze dream pop masterpiece of this collection, a must have for people that are into Ride, Lush and My Bloody Valentine. Just for a Day sounds a bit of a too much too soon work, not very focused, while Pygmalion is pure ambient stuff, not surprisingly with cameos by Brian Eno, so be advised.
