4.0 out of 5 stars cheapest am3+ board
got this to keep costs to a minimum. installed a fx6300, hd7750 and 8gb ram, works fine. even has all basic overclocking features, but i would not recommend anything more than a minor overclock. also note, AMD rates this board's cpu power support at 95w, ruling out the use of a fx8350 which has a thermal design point of 125w (would very likely work anyway, but not...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great, if you don't over clock
I purchased this board to go with an FX-6300. To be honest it struggles, It runs at the stock 3.5Ghz but will not boost to 4.1Ghz because of the limited Voltage regulators, as they have no heat sinks on them they quickly over head and under clock the processor causing a temporary slow down. Also the 3-pin fan connector has no intelligent control so you need a voltage...

minor gripe is the chassis fan header is not controlled (fan spins at full speed all times), so you may need a resistor for that.

recommended.

Great price, well made by a established company.
Could have more features but what do you expect for £40.
I would recommend this board to any one who just wants to go online or build a cheap gaming rig.

Very nice product for the price - no fancy frills just a well put together motherboard that does the job it is supposed to - the ability to boot into windows using a USB pen drive is a big advantage. also the fact that this motherboard includes ASUS coreunlocker as well only adds to the value. no onbaord HDMI or DVI port but for a low to mid budget PC i couldnt recommend this Mobo highly enough

good board for price, but shows 1866mhz ram as 1666mhz with amd fx cpu, change all the settings still shows false reading, spec indicates is compatable but only with fx cpu otherwise default 1333mhz,others appear to have same probs if you google it,so if you want to run higher sporty ram then another board would prob be best

The ASUS M5A78L-M LX3 is a very good motherboard if you are looking for a cheap upgrade, it has decent onboard graphics and very easy to set up, just put processor and ram in and was ready to go, didn't have to mess with bios.
So if you are looking to build your own computer or just upgrade I would definitely recommend this motherboard.

I will be replacing this board soon to something that can unleash the full potential of the CPU.
