I bought this Sharp tv for the bedroom and in many mays it serves its purpose. Decent picture quality, good build quality and the ability to record and replay programmes using a USB memory stick. As with most slim tv's however, the sound quality is poor, and the responce time from the EPG is slow.
All this said, for £160 its ok, but maybe consider buying some Logitek PC speakers to help deilver a decent sound.

We bought this TV for the guest bedroom and as such it is OK for occasional viewing. The first visitor to use it seemed quite happy watching football and Coronation Street whilst the rest of us were watching something else in the main room. We had to add external amplified speakers to make the sound acceptable, but this is quite common with cheap small TVs. The sound with the amplified speakers was good.
The idea of being able to record was appealing as a back up to other recording devices, but it was disappointing to discover that the system had been crippled so that recordings would only play back on that particular set. Presumably this was at the behest of Sharp's legal department. Also it did not seem to record on timer if left on standby. The picture had to be showing, which seemed a bit of a waste, although the power consumption is minimal compared to older sets. It did, however, power down once the recording had been made.
For our purpose it is fine, but we could not recommend this as a main TV, and to be fair it probably isn't marketed as that.
