I had been an infrequent user of sunglasses in the past, and even when I did wear sunglasses during bright sunlight I always found that my eyes became sore pretty quickly.
And having only bought a few pairs of sunglasses over the last 25 years - a Bausch & Lomb pair, and also a quite pricey pair of Oakley's later on to name but two of the big guns in the optics world, I was never happy with the build quality, nor the fact that they always felt loose and were forever sliding down the bridge of my nose, so it was with some trepidation rather than anticipation that I sent off for a pair of these Polarized Crosshair sunglasses, again from Oakley - and what a difference with this pair.....
These are fantastic, a snug fitting really comfortable pair that I find particularly useful for driving, and I can drive all day long in bright sunlight without getting sore eyes or having to readjust the positioning of the frame between nose and ears - they seem to stick to my head like velcro so I can put them on before a journey and forget about them, they are that comfortable, and these polarized glasses just cover my whole range of vision without allowing any chink of the harmful rays of sunlight through.
I see that they are £30 cheaper now on Amazon than the price I paid for them recently, so they are even more of a bargain for anybody who wants to obtain a great pair of sunglasses, particularly for driving - they look good too.......... 5 *****

I'd never spent a lot of money on sunglasses before...I'd had a couple of pairs by Dirty Dog, and a pair by Ted Baker at roughly £30 each which had been fine. I spotted these Oakleys in a retail store and decided I really liked them. Obviously much cheaper on here, so that was a massive advantage in the first place, and decided to take the plunge and buy them.

They are very very lightweight, and incredibly comfortable. You could almost forget that you are wearing them. I don't get that feeling that my head is being squeezed from both sides when I'm wearing them for a length of time, and they are secure and unlikely to fall off when running and cycling, at least on the road.

The build quality is brilliant, the hinges are strong, with no play in them at all, and there is no resistance when opening or closing the arms in the middle of the movement; only a slight amount at each end of the movement (ie towards fully closed or towards fully opened), which I believe should be the right balance.

For me, the big selling point of this style was the understated design. Many Oakley sunglasses have never appealed to me because of the oversized arms, or shapes etc, and I think that these suit me much better.

Polarised lenses are great for hayfever sufferers, particularly those whose eyes and symptoms are affected by sunlight. Also these sunglasses, while not being full wraparound, do provide good coverage from the eyes, so from a hayfever point of view, they can help to provide some reasonable protection from airborne pollen in the wind.

Overall, to me it is a huge amount of money to spend on a pair of sunglasses, but they are extremely well made, extremely comfortable and of a style that is likely to stay in fashion for many years to come.

So I received these and knew instantly they were fake - made in China - where real Oakley glasses are made in the U.S. - close but no biscuit - I have returned these to Amazon and they will be conducting an investigation as well as I have informed Oakley.
