5.0 out of 5 stars YES YES YES! but....
I am SOOOOO happy this is on a DVD!! I Sky plussed it and have watch it over and over again with my 13 year old daughter. I've been trying to explain to her the fact that this is what we used to do, WALKING home from school, (not getting a lift) TALKING about boys and music and Top of the Pops. No cars on the roads, no mobile phones to walk and text/facebook...

3.0 out of 5 stars "Waterloo Road" Casting
Modest and entertaining four-part comedy series from the pen of actress Kathy Burke, featuring a winning performance from Ami Metcalf as the young Kath. There's plenty of nostalgia on display for those of us who were around in the late 70s aswell as some amusing interplay between Metcalf and her schoolfriend Mary. Unfortunately some of the casting doesn't quite come off:...

Her recent Walking and Taking mini series and the fact that she is so damn talented is the proof that she is totally lovable and a joy to behold! This series may be short but oh so powerful in being back memories from the late seventies early eighties. Both lead actors are superb and the others make the walking even crave more talking! The "retro" way the series was filmed with the muted watercolor seventies technocolor brings tears of joy to my eyes! I highly suggest you run dont' walk to either buy eleswhere or hit the "buy now" key NOW!

There's plenty of nostalgia on display for those of us who were around in the late 70s aswell as some amusing interplay between Metcalf and her schoolfriend Mary. Unfortunately some of the casting doesn't quite come off: Aimee-Ffion Edwards, despite being quite charming, is about ten years too old for her role and Jerry Sadowitz is saddled with a badly written role that goes nowhere. Fun but forgettable.
