5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!
I have read most of Terry Pratchett's books and the one constant throughout them has been the fantastic characterisation and humour within these books. I have always preferred the Discworld books due to the fact that the characters grow throughout the series. If you are already a Discworld fan and are thinking of buying this book, then I would absolutely recommend it...

2.0 out of 5 stars Far from his best
I have been reading Terry Pratchett's books since the early years of Discworld and had been hoping for something special here. One of my favourite Pratchett books is Good Omens and I imagined that this step away from Discworld would also allow him to spread his wings, freed from the constraints of that series. All I can say is that I was disappointed, The book has no...

I have read each flat earth novel many times, and T.P. writes his books with regular readers in mind, I think. There is a greater depth to these books than is possible in a "Stand-alone", and this makes the present volume a little disappointing for me. He can hardly be criticized for wishing to write in new areas, but I am more comfortable reading his established work.

2.0 out of 5 stars Time to retire gracefully Terry, 8 Feb. 2014

This review is from: Dodger (Paperback)
Poor Sir Terry. My mother suffered from dementia and I can see the same disordered thinking and unfinished trains of thought she displayed in the early stages in his writing here and it upsets me. He's left us with a fine body of work and some of the funniest writing and original fantasy ideas, but it's time to hand over Discworld at all to his daughter.
