sound doesn't warrant build quality
on 27 February 2013
These are well built and not likely to break from wear and tear (i listen to mp3 player daily and tend to end up snagging earbud cables which does tend to reduce the lifespan of more delicate models) like my previous pairs of Philips SHE8000. The problem for me is that in comparison with the excellent sound quality of the SHE8000's, these really compare badly. Bass response is muffled and highs are tinny and 'artificial' sounding in comparison. I guess if you are busy exercising you won't be so focused on the sound, but it would be nice if sound was at least comparable to cheaper models by the same company.
If philips could combine the build of this model with the sound quality of the 8000's they'd have the perfect lower priced earbuds. As they are i'm glad i managed to get a pair for £15 as opposed to the listed price as that is all i would be happy with having enjoyed the sound quality of the others so much
