Certainly one of my favourite and most played CD's. Every track is beautifully written, arranged and performed. I have always loved the voice of the counter tenor and James Bowman doesn't disappoint. But as much as I love Stabat Mater the Salve Regina tracks by Andreas Scholl are to me totally mind blowing. I am transported to a different world when he sings the title track and Ad te clamamus that immediately follows. Really breathtaking vocals and arrangements.

The lyricism of this Italian Cantata perfectly describes the tragic, momentous aftermath of Jesus' death, lamented by Mary. The singing will hardly ever, be surpassed. A world's 'inheritance' musical achievement for future generations.
Rene' Jacob's landmark of ingenuity at orchestrating and conducting this XVIIIth Century masterpiece.
