I got this stand after a lot of deliberation and searching on the net so that my laptop would be at a better angle for working with on my desk. When the stand arrived and I unpacked it, I realised just how small & compact it is, yet very sturdy and performs excellently. The support on my Mac book is excellent and I've found it extremely sturdy with no movement at all and it is just the right height while sitting at my desk. I also like the fact that it is quick & easy to fold away and very transportable. It is also very well made and I believe that it will last a long time judging by the material & workmanship.

Overall I'm more impressed by the delivered product than I thought I would be and have no hesitation in highly recommending this to anyone looking for a sensible, practical product that does the job perfectly. Thanks to the designers for a superb piece of engineering.

Have just received this and felt compelled to get straight on to Amazon and write a review!. I trawled Amazon for a few hours to search for a stand, read all the reviews and decided on this one based on reviews from others, the small size and portability, but more importantly how it positioned the laptop. Having recently started a new position where a laptop was provided for home office I had noticed that my posture and neck positions left me aching at the end of an 8 hour day. An hour in and I can already feel I am sitting better and my head is at the right angle. The product is and does exactly as suggested and the laptop fits perfectly, is stable and does not move, surprising as it is such a simple design and takes less that a minute to open out and place the laptop. Highly recommend!!

Had this as a present from my wish list and could not have wished for better. Excellent little stand, beautifully made, fits my monster 17" Toshiba perfectly, elevates it so the fan can get a good breath of air (I seem to detect less fan action now) and tips the whole laptop forward to a better working angle. Odd isn't it that designers have made laptops flat and ignored the necessity of a tilted or racked keyboard. All style and no ergonomics. Just a couple of little extendable legs at the back would help. We don't seem to learn...
Other reviewers have noted that the retaining pegs at the front of the stand protrude over the top of their laptop and they brush against them when typing. This depends upon your laptop, my Toshiba is pretty fat and the pegs do not stick up above the deck. If you want to check the fit for your laptop the front pegs on the stand are 13mm high. Well worth the money. Very portable neat design. Recommended.

Bought 2 of these stands as both laptops were constantly overheating. Delivery was very quick and they have made a massive difference. The stand is very sturdy and really simple to set up. Worth every penny, just wish I had purchased them earlier. Brilliant product.

If you're after a simple but very well made laptop stand then you should buy this. If you use a laptop all day for work and you find yourself bent over the keyboard whilst typing then I would buy this as it lifts the keyboard to an angle perfect for typing and brings the screen more into your natural eye line. It also folds away to nothing so is great for storing in a laptop case.

This is an extremely nifty bit of kit. :)

Firstly, It does the job very efficiently - I have been using my computer on it for several hours now, and it's barely even warm, whereas normally it would be worryingly hot by now.

Secondly, it's unobtrusive. The other devices I have seen that are intended to do this job have a supportive limb that sticks out at the back, looking very odd and taking up a good deal more space. This just fits neatly under the computer.

Thirdly, it's easily portable, as it is not only quite light, but also folds down to something that will easily fit into a computer carry bag.

And finally, it puts the keyboard at a comfortable angle to type on. :)

The only thing I can see which might be viewed as a drawback is that it is not adjustable. But as it works so very well at this angle and makes the keyboard so comfortable to use, I don't see this as a problem.

I am very, very pleased with this purchase. :)

Just one additional note - the main picture on this page shows the stand being used upside down, which I think must account for the handful of low reviews which said that the stand wobbled or that the computer slipped off it. When you use it the other way up, it's perfectly stable, and the computer can't slip off because the little tabs (which look like feet in the picture) hold it in place. :)

Initial Impresssions
-------------------------
Tiny box. On opening, the item itself is folded up in a nice easily transportable form. Before unfolding i initally thought i had only been sent one piece of the unit. After unfolding it i thought the unit was very small and flimsy and the two non extendable legs were too thin and wondered what i paid £19.99 for.

Impressions after a few days of use.
-------------------------------------------------
Stronger than it looks. Mine has a 15.6 inch laptop with a 9 cell battery sitting on it and my meaty fingers banging away at the keyboard and it hasn't budged.

Does a fabulous job of cooling. The hard drive in this laptop would regularly reach 50 Centigrade, triggering an alarm in my hard drive monitoring software. Now the max temp it reaches is 43 centigrade.

What i first thought of as flimsy design, i now believe to be clever engineering. The two non extendable legs seem to be thin to allow the unit to flex so that all four feet of the unit provide support even if the surface it's resting on isn't totally flat (eg. some of those flimsy lap desks which bend). My latop is rock solid on this stand. I tend to forget it's there until i suddenly realise that i haven't got an overheating alarm for days. My current impression is that like most good designs, it's simplicity disguises the fact that someone seems to have put a lot of thought and effort into creating something which just works.

£19.99 felt expensive when i first saw the unit but now, having seen the end result of using this, i am extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone with laptop overheating problems. You could easily pay more than this to get a usb powered lap desk with fans, which isn't necessarily going to have the fans situated at the parts of your laptop that require cooling and so may not produce as good a result as this unit,

This is by far the best laptop stand for a stable surface. Its lightweight, durable and sleek which means it will travel well. After reading other reviews I am pleased i purchased this. It does not work well on your lap though, so better suited to a table surface.

I am very impressed with this stand - my 15.6" laptop is getting on a bit and I found that the underside was getting very hot and the fan was running at full pelt. That issue has been resolved and the fan is rarely audible now. The stand is also very lightweight and folds into a tiny space so it is easy to take with me on my travels. I like the slight angle which, for me at least, makes typing much more comfortable. I found no difficulty in getting an arrangement of the legs so that the laptop is stable.

My only gripe is that the price seems high for what you get, but then if it extends the life of the laptop it's a small price to pay.

Works perfectly on my HP Pavilion 15" laptop and now bought one for my daughter's Apple laptop.
The two plastic prongs to hold base of laptop are below the top panel so your hands don't catch them.
Sturdy and adjustable for depth of laptop.
Helps cooling - I have Core Temp installed and laptop definitely runs cooler.
However, laptop is slightly noisier as the fan at the rear is now 3/4 cm off the ground - but that's why it is cooler!
When you open lid laptop base lifts off the stand (laws of physics!) but you just hold the base!
Finally, totally unobtrusive.
