5.0 out of 5 stars The Sugar Girls Tate & Lyle
I have just finished reading Joan's story and have now read all four... they were a wonderful insight in to the life of the young ladies.. I really enjoyed reading them and how nice it would be if they were made into a television series... and I really hope that Joan's son Terry who she was forced to give up for adoption will one day contact his birth mother... Joan has...

Joan has never stopped loving him and tried so hard to keep him when she was younger..I really do hope one day they meet up again.

Bought for my wife's Kindle. She enjoyed it but not as much as Lillian's Story. I believe she wants to read all the Sugar Girls novels in time.

I was interested in reading Gladys, Lillian and Joan's story as I worked for Silver Spoon back in the 1970's. Once you're into the books it's hard to put them down. I wanted the stories to carry on after the girls left Tate and Lyle but, was disappointed when they didn't - apart from the last couple of pages update. The factory I worked at had a social club and sports events between other Silver Spoon factories and yes it did bring back long forgotten memories.

A short insight into an era and geographical area that I love to read about. Joan's story is heartwarming, and the writer really describes the sights, sounds, smells and obstacles that Joan encountered. I have read Ethel's story too, which followed a similar path. Short, cheap, enjoyable reads.

A dash of nostalgia! The story took me back through the years to the trials of being a teenager and the biggest fears in your life. Those were not the days for your fear to become reality. A nice story, easy to read and a memory jolted.
