5.0 out of 5 stars 4.5 Star Rating
I bought this camera without seeing one in person before-hand. But having had nothing but good results from Canon products since my first digital camera back in 2003, I wasn't worried. I can safely say this camera lived up to my expectations. In a nutshell it is easy to use, takes great photos with excellent colour accuracy and is in a size format which easily fits in...

3.0 out of 5 stars OK, but with faults
I've always bought Canon cameras, you might pay a little extra for the name but 9 times out of 10 it's worth it for the great quality you get.
As a general use camera this is OK, it takes a decent photo and has good zoom.
However, when you come to use it in water it has several negative points:-
1. The lens is right at the top corner of the camera meaning...

Bought this camera as an early Christmas present for myself as I'm off on a year long work contract, and as I've lost count of the cameras I've smashed/soaked over the years I picked this one up. It arrived quickly and I was very excited to try it out. I plugged in the battery, took a photo and the charge ran out. Ah well, guess it doesnt come charged, so I plugged it into the charger that came with it and plugged that in.

Or I would have done that if the charger actually came with a power cable...

Canon didn't provide me with any way of actually plugging in the charger they were kind enough to give me for free so I could actually use my 260 camera. Now maybe I'm just over entitled, but when someone gives me a battery charger I expect it to come with a plug, especially as the product cannot be charged via USB (Or if it can, I can't figure it out).

I checked the little manual that lists everything that should come in the box, and as far as I can tell its not missing, Canon just don't think that I might need a non standard power cable (I don't have any in my house at all) or that I might want to use my camera straight away. Taking a trip to the nearest electronics store to buy one is a very entertaining experience, after all.

Of course, I did get a USB cable for free, so who am I to complain. THANKS CANON!

If your getting this as a Christmas present, be warned that you don't get everything you need in the box. At least I didn't. Not really a deal breaker, but it would be pretty dissapointing to find out on Christmas Day that you can't play with your present...

Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Canon Powershot D20 HS Waterproof Digital Camera - Silver (12.1 MP, 5x Optical Zoom) 3.0 Inch LCD (Electronics)
THIS CAMERA WAS A REPLACEMENT FOR AN OLDER MODEL WHICH I HAD YEARS USE OUT OF ,HOWEVER, ON THE SECOND DAY OF USE THE CAMERA FILLED WITH WATER AND INSTANTLY BROKE. I HAVE DECIDED TO STEER CLEAR OF THE ALL IN ONE WATERPROOF CAMERAS AND BUY ONE WATERPROOF AND ONE REGULAR. I HAVE NO SBAPS OF A RECENT HOLIDAY BECAUSE OF THIS, PLEASE BE WARY WHEN BUYING.
