I bought these as I regularly work outside and in the winter and have to stand for hours on end on cold, wet concrete, often in the rain. After only and hour or so with my normal shoes or boots and 2 pairs of socks I generally end up with wet shoes and freezing toes to match my fingers, ears and nose. Not any more though...
I've worn these 4 or 5 times now. I'm a size 8 normally and bought a size 8 in this boot and they were a perfect fit. I generally wear 2 pairs of socks with them, a trainer or thin sock with a thermal or walking sock over the top and there are no issues with size.
Every time I've worn these they have kept my feet warm and dry all day long with no issues no matter how heavy the rain or cold the ground underfoot. These boots are extremely comfortable to wear and walk in and although they are quite chunky I've taken to wearing them at a weekend with my jeans for pottering about in too as they are pretty smart looking.
I haven't tested them to the extremes yet with a full off-road wet grass and mud trekking experience (as i don't want to get the dirty sadly) so cant vouch for their capabilities as a full-on hiking boot. However they have a chunky vibram rubber sole with great grip and while being quite lightweight they look and feel well built and heavy duty, so my gut feeling is that they will perform well.
I did quite a lot of research before plumping for these and although the boots generally got good reviews I was initially quite skeptical due to;
a) The brand - back in the 80's Hi-Tec weren't necessarily know for quality hiking boots; and
b) The price - they were pretty much towards the lower end of what you could pay for a walking boot when compared to the likes of Berghaus, Merrel etc.
I'm a believer in you get what you pay for, but for the relatively low price (comparatively speaking) and for my requirements I am more than happy with my purchase and would recommend these boots.

A perfect size fit and allows for thermal socks without feeling too snug. Well tested on dog walks in wet and muddy conditions and have proven waterproof, warm and comfortable. A really nice boot for the job.

I bought these to replace a pair of Karrimor boots that had worn out on the sole after not many miles. i bought the normal size but although OK on the toe were tight on the width and the laces wouldn't pull the tongue to a reasonable width without making the boots uncomfortable. This was with normal thin socks, so they went back and replaced again with some Karrimor which were a great fit again.

Very comfortable from new. I use them daily dog walking for an hour or two and in wet grass meadows the bottom of my trousers were wet but my feet were dry and warm with no waterproof spraying. My wife has a pair now as well and she too is pleased

I'm a fisherman contantly in the wet from dripping nets etc. When I saw these boots at this price guranteed to be waterproof I thought I would give them chance. Haven't been disappointed, for anyone like me who wants a boot for decent protection for walking in wet grass or a wet kind of a hobby like mine (not constantly standing in water) then this boot is excellent value.
I guess if you paid a lot more money you could get a lot more boot - Depends what you are looking for but I can confirm that over the few months and numerous outings I have had with them they are comfortable and keep me dry.I would recommend them.

These boots are great. They are very comfortable and support the ankle. When the winter comes this is what i feel people require.

I went for my normal trainer size, since the description indicated that the sizing is accurate. I find them just a shade under the correct size and I can't wear them with walking socks. But with ordinary socks, they are very comfortable.

I like the high cut, which provides some ankle support. The laces are rather short - they need another 20cm to allow for a decent knot.

This pair of boots was an exchange for the Skechers Mens Sergeants.
Hi-Tec Storm - impress me with:
1) Light weight
2) Comfort straight out of the box
3) Overall Quality

I'm thinking about buying a 2nd pair.

It's a tiny bit larger than it's size, but I think that's a good thing so that you can wear it with thick and thin socks and still be comfortable. Have had them for a month now, they are performing really well and seem to be made of quality materials.
