The letters therein are well up to the usual high standard of correspondence (addressed to the Daily Telegraph) which don't appear on the appropriate page in the daily editions. They are notably more humorous than those which do appear in the Reader's letters columns; consequently, their omission is surprising. I should have thought that some humour is an essential leavening in these straitened times!

As an avid reader (& writer) of "Letters to the Editor" I loved this book. Looking forward to the next.

Another book for my lavatorial library. This collection of letters sent to the editor of The Daily Telegraph spans the funny, the ridiculous and the very, very strange. Having read it I think I have learnt a great deal about the workings of the minds of the British middle-class.

I thoroughly enjoy this series of books. Shows what is going on at a given time in recent history and what a mixed group of readers think. There are those to heartily agree with and those one would not. Either way - enjoyable.

This and "Am I Alone in Thinking?" now have pride of place in our loo. For us on the left it's fun to read Daily Bellylaugh readers get their knickers in a twist over the behaviour and values of others.

This collection of "Letters to the Editor" from "Telegraph" readers is as enjoyable as the previous books in the series and shows what a great sense of humour the British public has.

Don't know whether to praise or grieve... One of my letters is in this book. Suppose it supports my view that all the best Telegraph letters don't make it on to the letters page.

If you enjoy "The Oldie" humour then you will love this. There is nothing quite so funny as people being intense and serious and it not coming off.
