5.0 out of 5 stars I have always loved this book, 7 April 2013

This review is from: Azure Bonds (Kindle Edition)
I bought this book from W H Smith as a brand new paperback more than 20 years ago and loved it. I still have it and keep going back to read it again about every 2 years. I still love it. It is a classic swords and sorcery type adventure with the main character, Alias, being a woman in search of her missing memories and the origin of four tatoos on her arm. Along the way, she meets an assortment of beings who become her friends, Dragonbait - a Soreal, Akbar - a trader and Magician, Olive - a halfling thief pretending to be a Bard, as well as enemies like Mist - the dragon. I'd add more, but don't want to spoil the suspense of Alias's eventual unravelling of the mysteries surrounding her.

If you enjoy a good adventure and appreciate strong female leads, with a lot of magic and swordfights thrown in, then this is definitely worth the money. I love this book so much that I have requested it and been looking for it as a Kindle edition for the last few years and now that it is finally available, I bought it. Immediately.

I hope you enjoy this book as much as I still do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, 30 April 2010
The introduction to the Forgotten Realms of Alias, the "Frankenstein" of that world, begins here. Alias, a fiery Adventurer, wakes up hungover and with holes in her memory and, initially, think's she got WAY too drunk... Then she meets her "Brother", Dragonbait, who she bonds with immediately and Akabar, the Mage. Travelling with both, she discovers that her memories and reality are very different and sets out to find out why. More importantly, just what is the origin and purpose of this magical tattoo on her arm? The closer she get to the truth, the more she realises she doesn't know...

Well written, enjoyable and an interesting mystery, if you enjoy a good FR story this is a fine example.
